Step 1: In SQL Server Management Studio, connect to SBUS-DB server. Right click and create a new database. For this project, we have created a database by the name “Aviationfareanalyzer”.

Step 2: Right click on the database -> Tasks -> Import Data. Choose the data source as Excel. Select the excel file with all the tables and data in it. Choose the target as the new database that is created in the server.

Step 3: Once the data is imported, it can be used to generate a cube.

IMPORTANT STEPS TO FOLLOW TO IMPORT THE DATA FROM EXCEL INTO SBUS-DB DATABASE

Report 1: Average fares for the routes with respect to carrier

Observation: The Average fare values changes with quarter to quarter with respect to carrier. In 2014, United airlines had the highest average fare and Spirit airlines with the lowest average fare.

Report 2: Average fare and max number of passengers travelled with respect to time

Observation: The number of passengers differs from quarter to quarter even though the average fare increased in the American Airlines. So passengers consider all the aspects when choosing the airlines not only by the fare.

Report 3: Average Number of passengers with respect to carrier, origin city and time

Observation: It concludes that the American Airlines had the maximum number of passengers who travelled to different cities in 2014.

Report 4: Max Market Share value and average fare with respect to city and carrier

Observation: For each quarter the market share value changes because the average share value changes from quarter to quarter.

Observation: From the graph, we can conclude the united Airlines have the largest market share among other airlines.
