Vancouverwent seven straight games without allowing their opponent to score a power play goal, from Oct. 25-Nov. 14/13. John Tortorella became the 17th Head Coach in Vancouver Canucks history on June 25, 2013. His previous NHL appointments include headcoaching roles with the New York Rangers from 2008 to 2013 and the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2000 to 2008, where he won a Stanley CupChampionship in 2004. Entering the 2013.14 season, Tortorella ranked first among U.S. born coaches in all-time NHL wins with 410 career victories. He was the 30thcoach in NHL history to reach 800 games and 40th all-time to record 300 wins.
