 FROM THE CREASE Roberto Luongo ranks among the League’s elite goaltenders and continues to move up the list for most wins and shutouts in Leaguehistory. Luongo is tied for sixth in the League this season with 21 wins and ranks fourth among active goaltenders and is 28th all-timefor most career wins at 291. He surpassed Ed Giacomin's 289 wins with a shootout victory Jan. 11 at NYI and Tiny Thompson’s 284wins with a victory Dec. 18/10 vs TOR. He is 9 victories shy of becoming the 25th goaltender in League history to reach the 300-winmilestone. Luongo’s 53 shutouts also rank among the best. Currently ranking second among active goaltenders and tied for 20th inLeague history, he is within two shutouts of surpassing Ed Giacomin and Bernie Parent with 54 shutouts each. Luongo hasaccomplished these feats under pressure having faced 19,426 shots in his career. Only 13 other NHL goaltenders (2 active) have facedmore shots all-time.
