Eye Candy, y’all! That little HiLux is a sleeper.
From the President…
Rallies are fun. We enjoy the time working together to get lost and find our way back. All while having a great time increasing our communication and understanding of each other. Oh, who am I kidding?! We are lucky we survived! This months’ Rallye was fun! Jerry did a great job of putting together a perfectly logical set of instructions, clearly written, and if executed one after another would get you from point A to B. Now, do you think the Dando team could do that? Not a chance. We were either over thinking, not reading far enough ahead or the driver was upsetting the navigator or the navigator was trying to catch her

breath. We had a very hard go of it and at each check point had just enough time to promise each other we would do better on the next leg. In the end, we either made up more time or backtracked more than the last leg. We were doomed!!! BUT WE FINISHED!!!!!! We could not have done it without Lee and Margret. In the end………..first SOP+?????? Either our math was off or Jerry felt sorry for us and felt we needed a bottle of wine. What a great drive in the country and the Dando’s are looking forward to the next one!!!! Thanks to everyone who showed up and got lost with us and I apologize to those of you that I passed, some more than once! The novices continue to show us how it’s done and the veterans are doing an amazing job of helping them out. Keep coming out and see you at the next one!!!!

From the Vice President…
Tradition has been to end the SWISCC Rallye season in Sun
Valley. This year the date is October 13-14. It’s time to think about
attending this memorable event. It’s a weekend of fun and
friendship. Friday night we have a get together with food and adult
beverages. Saturday morning, we rallye through the beautiful
Wood River valley. Saturday evening is a wonderful dinner at the Inn
with the Rallye Winner awards. Many club members have fond
memories of this event. Remember, What Happens in Sun Valley
Stays in Sun Valley.

Al Colwell’s sweeet Camaro he bought for rallying! It matches his navigator,
Erika Couch.
Lori Fascilla and Rallyemaster Jerry Howard trying not to look
at Joe Fascilla, and make him feel any worse about driving 30’ish
miles off course in the final leg. The Fascillas DID get a standing ovation
upon arrival, however!

If they look a little giddy, there’s good reason! They were 1st SOP in April, and 1st Overall in May.
Thanks to all for a fun rally. Marie and I thought it was a
little tricky, but not too bad. We were sure we blew it with a
38 on the first check and then a 140 for a total. We lucked out
as we looked up just in time to see both DIY’s. We saw some
roads we hadn’t been on before, and some that we hadn’t
been on in many years. I am going to try not to win another
one so I don’t have to write about it. Ha. Ha.
See everyone at the meeting Friday.
Dick and Marie
P.S. I do like the Raptor, as I can see better and not get lost as
much.

Action-packed checkpoint with Sally and Rod Heller. Is that a yawn, Sally? And is that a newspaper, Rod?

Keith Hatcher is coordinating and could use some help setting up on Friday evening. There are 2 entry fees, if you want to sign up for all the events the fee is $40. If you just want to do the show and shine it will be $20. There will be no charge for helping Keith set up on Friday evening but he will be glad you showed up. Contact Keith at 921-2388. No rally in June with all the other activities we have scheduled. June 20th: Board meeting - location TBD. July 7th: General meeting at Banbury. July Rally will start and end in Baker City Oregon. We have 20 rooms at $99/night reserved for July 21 & 22 at the Best Western Sunridge Inn in Baker. More details to follow after Dick, Marie, Ellen and I have a session to figure out what we are doing. July 26: Board Meeting August 4: General meeting at Banbury. August 13: August Rallye Thanks to Jerry & Charlene Howard for hosting a good rally last month. A word advice from the Activities Coordinator. Passing a slow Nissan SUV as you go by a DIY checkpoint will cost you 300 points. Also, if the navigator says, “right after RIP sanitary” and you think she said “cemetery”, that will cost you another 300. Happy motoring!
