1.2. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES1.2.1. GENERAL
Except for security reasons, the noise abatement procedures must be followed as
indicated below:
- IFR ACFT with an approved SID and take-off on RWY 20 must follow the path
stated in the SID, without turning prior to D6.0 GIR.
- Except for take-off and landing, operations are not allowed within the traffic
circuit below 2000' AAL for CAT C and D ACFT and below 1500' AAL for CAT A
and B ACFT.
- Overflying of city center should be avoided.
- For CAT C and D ACFT training flights are not allowed during local holidays
and weekends.
1.3. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)1.3.1. GENERAL
LVP will be applied when
- RVR or VIS is 600m or below;
- Ceiling is 250’/75m or below;
- Rapid deterioration of meteorological conditions recommends so.
Pilots will be informed about the application of LVP by ATIS or radio frequency.
RVR values will be supplied by ATC via ATIS or radio frequency according to the
following:
- RVR ALPHA: RVR value at TDZ;
- RVR BRAVO: RVR value at RWY midpoint;
- RVR CHARLIE: RVR value at RWY end.
LVP will be cancelled when
- RVR or VIS is greater than 800m;
- Ceiling is 300’/90m;
- The improvement tendency of meteorological conditions is strong.
1.3.2. GROUND MOVEMENTWhen LVP are in force only one movement of an ACFT in the manoeuvring area
will be authorized at the same time. TWYs E2 and E3 and gate G3 will be closed,
except for arrivals of code letter E that shall access via G3 to stand 12C. Pilots
will proceed to verify at every moment the ACFT position, especially at intersec-
tions, checking that taxiing is being executed under total safety conditions. In
case of being disoriented or in doubt, pilots will stop the ACFT, immediately
notify TWR and request "Follow-me" assistance.
Only one movement of an ACFT on the apron will be authorized at the same time.
Autonomous or towed push-back exits from the stands will not be authorized
while another ACFT is waiting on the apron.
ARRIVALS:When leaving the RWY, pilots will notify
- RWY vacated;
- Sensitive area vacated;
- TWY used.
Once on the apron ACFT will notify stand and frequency out.

DEPARTURES:
Pilots will notify
- Parking position;
- Push-back requests if this is the case;
- The start of taxiing towards the gates G-1, G-2 or G-4. In case of VIS below
150m the Follow-me car will proceed to guide the ACFT to the corresponding
gate;
- TWY used;
- Entry in RWY.
1.3.3. COMMUNICATIONS FAILUREArriving ACFT will hold position in the first segment of RWY where the ILS sensi-
tive area is vacated and wait for the arrival of a Follow-me car in order to be
guided to the designated parking position.
Departing ACFT will continue the assigned route to its clearance limit taking
extreme caution to avoid detours, then hold position and wait for the arrival of a
Follow-me car in order to be guided to the parking position or holding bay
designated.
1.4. PARKING INFORMATIONExit stands 1 thru 8, 12A, 12B,15 and 16 by push-back.
Stand 14 push-back required if stand 15 is occupied. Otherwise pilot is allowed to
use autonomous exit.
1.5 TAXI PROCEDURESOversteering for code letter 4D (B767) or higher ACFT, because there is less than
15'/4.5 m between the outer wheel of the main landing gear of the code letter 4D
or higher ACFT and the taxiway edge, movement of this kind of ACFT should be
performed using the oversteering maneuver whenever possible:
- When accessing from RWY to E4 and E2;
- When accessing from TWYS to TWY G2, G3, G4.
In the case of code letter C or higher ACFT halted at RWY access point E2, the
taxiing of other code letter C or higher ACFT will not be permitted via TWY T1
and T2.
In the case of code letter C or higher ACFT halted at RWY access point E3, the
taxiing of other code letter C or higher ACFT will not be permitted via TWY T4,
T5 and G3.
1.6. OTHER INFORMATIONCAUTION: Birds.

2.1. SPEED RESTRICTIONSSPEED ADJUSTMENTS UNDER RADAR CONTROL- 250 KT on SLP.
- 230 KT while in holding, at FL 140 or below.
SPEED ADJUSTMENTS ON APPROACH- 220 KT when leaving IAF.
ACFT with cruising speed below those indicated above shall maintain cruising
speed up to the adjustment point of their concern. ATC shall be informed of the
speeds that may be maintained, if unable to comply with the speed adjustments
above.
ACFT will be exempt from complying with these speed limitations when a Contin-
uous Descent STAR is being performed, but not with those explicitly shown on
some IACs.
2.2. CAT II/III OPERATONSRWY 20 is approved for CAT II/III operations, special aircrew and ACFT certifi-
cation required.
2.3. TAXI PROCEDURESWhen arriving at RWY 20 at night, do not leave the RWY via TWY E-2.
3.1. START-UP, PUSH-BACK AND TAXI PROCEDURESPilots shall request start-up clearance on GND frequency reporting stand number.
Permission will be issued as soon as requested unless more than 15 minutes delay
are foreseen, in which case ATC will notify the start-up time.
When an ACFT is ready for push-back and/or taxiing, pilots shall request permis-
sion before starting it.
RWY 20 at NIGHT:
Do not enter the RWY via TWY E-2 to perform back-track.
