During the hoondokhae session held in Cheon Jeong Gung, True Father pointed at the palm and joints of his left hand with his right hand and spoke about the symbolic significance of odd and even numbers. Afterward, he explained in detail about the principle of pairs centering on the relative relationship between different objects. In particular, he looked at the facial features of some participants and guessed accurately about their personalities. He also said that both the internal character and outward appearance of different people are in a relative relationship with others in positions of mutual complementation.

At this hoondokhae session, True Father said, ―You have come here looking like beggars, but the hoondok readings, textbooks and teaching materials are not based on your standard. To have confidence in them, you need to adjust yourselves to fit my standard instead. Even yesterday, I spoke all day long about the hoondok reading to you. Why did I do that? You may have wondered, ―Why is he talking about the past, when I wasn’t even in the church? It was twenty or thirty years ago. And some of what he is speaking about are things that I have known from even before I got married.‖

Why am I talking about things that happened in the past? Isn’t that what you’re wondering? It is my task to restore through indemnity everything that happened in the past, and to repeat them

over again. I have had to repeat them more than two or three times. Even after ten years, I have had to repeat some of them even ten times or more. Yet here you are, wondering to yourselves why I am repeating what I said before just once. Aren’t you? That is why, rather than growing closer to me, you drift farther and farther away from me. Satan knows about the erroneous direction you are following and is using it; yet, you don’t even know that he is using you. Do you? There are things that you will not understand even after ten readings, and yet you act as if you know everything after reading them only twice or three times. So what can I do when I am addressing you? I can’t address you. I can’t address you at all. That is why I need to be strict. You may say that I am very strict, very strict even to my followers. You are in the position of my sons and daughters, so how much stricter would I be to you? I am different from you. (Pointing at the textbooks and teaching materials) I know everything about the deep subject matter in these books, which is why my viewpoint is based on providential history. Do you understand? What I am saying is important.

On November 11 at 10:30 AM, the Strong Korea Peace Vision 21 Invitational Seminar for Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province was held at the Daegu Traffic Training Institute. The seminar was attended by Kook Jin Moon, chairman of the Tongil Foundation, his wife, Ji-ye Park; Dr. Sun Jo Hwang, and 400 other participants, including Mr. Yong Hee Yoon, former president of the College of Social Sciences at Kyungpook National University, Ms. Sang Eun Seoh, a former director of internal affairs at the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office and currently the mayor of Gumi; and Mr. Won Shik Lee, a former vice-governor of North Gyeongsang Province. Before the seminar began, a video, ―Strong Korea, the Foundation Stone in Establishing God’s Fatherland,‖ was shown to the audience to introduce them to True Parents’ activities and achievements.

When he assumed the podium, Chairman Moon showed his audience the economic, political and military analyses of Korea’s current situation and presented clear reasons that the nation needs to become a strong Korea: 1) The possibility of a crisis on the Korean Peninsula due to the economic difficulties of the United States, 2) The rapid progress of military buildup, and relationship with North Korea, and 3) The historical basis: a) For 2,000 years, the countries that invaded Korea the most were countries that emerged on the Chinese continent and modern China (Example: When the Korean civil war broke out sixty-one years ago, they invaded the Korean Peninsula. They also played a decisive role in the political division of the Korean Peninsula), b) The Abel realm was able to win the First World War and the Second World War because it was strong.

The chairman finished his address by reemphasizing what should be done by the Korean people, saying that though Korea is True Parents’ fatherland and Koreans are God’s chosen people, if the Korean people do not realize the importance of freedom and independence, nothing prevents the invasion of Korea by the strong nations surrounding it, as has happened in the past 2,000 years. Therefore, the Korean people, chosen as the third Israel, should fulfill their responsibilities and mission. The seminar was a great success. This invitational seminar series, which was held twelve times from Friday, August 26 and drew a total of 3,105 participants, was thus brought to an end.

The meeting for Daegu and the North Gyeongsang Region during the tour was held at the Daegu church on November 11. Before the meeting, Chairman Moon and his wife presided over a seminar for church leaders in Daegu and the North Gyeongsang Region.

At the meeting for church members that followed, the chairman gave his ―Strong Korea?‖ speech, in which he said that for Korea—which True Father has declared ―God’s fatherland and homeland‖—to become the world’s central nation, church members need to raise their security awareness and prepare for the future. In particular, the chairman emphasized, ―The Divine Principle tells us that the victory of the Abel nations in the First World War and Second World War enabled the further development of God’s providence of restoration. The Abel nations were able to defeat nations representing satanic traditions because the former were much stronger than the latter.‖ Therefore, he said, in order to complete God’s providence, Korea needed to become a strong Korea.

1. Brazil (1) October 23, Resolution Rally to Implement True Parents’ Declaration

The resolution rally to carry out True Parents’ Declaration was held at the Sao Paulo Church Headquarters in Brazil. Dr. Bo Hi Pak visited Brazil especially to attend this event. The rally was attended by more than a thousand people including Dr. Bo Hi Pak; Dong Mo Shin, the continental director; national messiahs, church leaders from the nations of South America, blessed couples and other Unification Church members. The gist of the rally was ―to clearly understand the Kwak Group issues and to pray for our brothers to return to their true positions.‖ Through the rally, all the participants pledged their absolute support and determination in regard to the Kwak Group issue and added their signatures to a pledge call for the implementation of True Parents’ Declaration.

(2) CARP Activities in Brazil Approximately thirty members are now fund raising full-time to offer devotions and to participate in True Parents’ birthday in the third year of Cheon-gi. While thus engaged, they have continued to witness to others. During October, a total of sixty-five people visited their video center, from which forty-seven people attended Divine Principle lectures. Since May, a total of 891 people have visited the video center through members’ witnessing activities. More than five hundred of them attended Divine Principle lectures.

- October 6–9, at the Peace Embassy Headquarters in Sydney, a four-day Divine Principle workshop was held for Blessed Children aged 14–16 in Sydney. Through the workshop, the participants came to understand their value as Blessed Children, how they should lead their lives, and what it means to be a Blessed Child.

2. One-on-one Divine Principle workshop

- On October 8 and 9, at Belgrave, in Melbourne, the first one-on-one Divine Principle workshop was attended by twenty-four participants. During the workshop, the participants read the Divine Principle and held a question and answer session with Rev. Dong Woo Kim. The workshop was an opportunity for them to understand the Original Divine Principle and to establish their foundations of faith and substance.
