THE THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - JUNE 28, 2020
FROM
OR
PAUL
FATHER
Dear Friends, Parents /Guardians, and Parishioners :
The Coronavirus Pandemic makes it impossible for us to have a traditional July 4th Picnic as we have had
for years. The Pandemic forces us to think outside of the box as we adapt to new ways of gathering. However,
one thing this Coronavirus cannot and will never take away from every one of you is the love, the generosity,
and the kindness that you have for Sacred Heart School. At the same time, this Coronavirus cannot take away
thememory that Sacred Heart School had unfolded and nurtured you. In fact, the school has unfolded and
nurtured thememory of your childhood, which was the age ofworry -free, the age of innocence and the age of
acting silly , but it was the age of themost beautifulmemory.
As Ihave mentioned earlier, July 4th of this year willbe very different. Foods will be drive -thru .Raffle and
auction will be online. Even the 5K is running virtually . Although the July 4th gathering of this year is
unconventional and much simpler than the gathering of last year and many years ago. However, this
simplicity does not take away its beauty and truth as Amelia Barr says, “ It is always the simple that produces
themarvelous," or Isaac Newton says, “ Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in themultiplicity and
confusion of things.” Indeed, this simplicity is themarvel of your love, your generosity, and your kindness
that makes the gathering of this year become the truth to be told and the example to be passed on to the
generations to come.
My dear friends, let us together write the true story of love and appreciation to Sacred Heart Community in
the midst of this pandemic through our love, our generosity , and our kindness. The truth is love conquers all
things andmakes everything possible.
Let us together sing the song of love and kindness through our active participation and support of Sacred
Heart Community in any way we can.
Sincerely Yours,
Rev. PaulNguyen , Pastor
Dear Parents, Friends, and Parishioners,
The pandemic makes everything difficult and inconvenient. Every institution has to follow complex rules
and regulations in terms of sanitization . Our parish and school also must follow these complex rules and
regulations. Therefore the church, school, gym , kitchen , PLC, and Paraclete Room are strictly used for
worship , staffmeetings, and education.
Due to complex rules and regulations, we have to cancel all other activities so that we can have a safe
environment to worship God and nurture our children in both faith and education .
If you alreadymade reservations for the PLC or the gym , we have to say “ Sorry ” at this time.Ms. Amy
will contact you and refund you in full. We apologize for any inconvenience that may cause you to feel
discomfort. I hope you understand and will be cooperative.
Sincerely Yours,
Rev. PaulNguyen, Pastor

DIOCESE OF NASHVILLE OFFICE OF THE BISHOP
COD EASLINDERTHELOTES
24 June 2020
MyDear People ofGod,
Atthe outset, allow meto expressmyappreciation for the willing spirit, faithfulness, and concern for
neighbor that you have shown as our world has responded to the COVID - 19 pandemic. Our civic leaders
and public health officials have indicated thatwearemaking significant progress against the disease and no
doubt, the sacrifices that wehavemade in the public practice ofthe faith are part of that progress.
In recent weekswe have enjoyed themeasured and incremental resumption of the public celebration ofMass
across the Diocese of Nashville. Still,we remain far from the “ normal” to which wewere all accustomed .
Asyou may remember, the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday and Holy DayMasses and the
cancellation ofnon- liturgical gatherings are currently effective through June 30. To encourage everyone to
continue to exercise prudent care over their health and wellbeing and charity towards others, I am extending
the dispensation from the obligation to attendMass on Sundays and Holy Days through August 3.
Even as public Masses have resumed, I encourage thosewho are vulnerable, sick, or otherwise at risk or
concerned about contracting or spreading disease, to refrain from attendingMass. Those who do choose to
return to Mass should observe all guidelines concerning social distancing and diligent hygiene. Wewill be
continuing to provide resources for growth in your life of Faith , and opportunities to watch celebrations of
Mass online. AttendingMass on a weekday can also be a good way to participate in public worship in a
smaller andmore socially distanced setting.
In concert with phased civic regulations that are currently expanding access to a variety of different types of
gatherings, pastorsmay now resumenon-liturgical events as they deem appropriate for their communities,
with due regard forspecific guidelines concerning occupancy restrictions and social distancing indicated by
the civic authorities. I ask that parishes continue their practices ofhand hygiene, the use ofmasks, and other
modifications of the liturgy which are in place to minimize risk . Ifmaintaining social distancing is possible,
pastorsmay consider beginning to expand attendance atMasses beyond the previous 50 % capacity
restriction
As Ihave assured you throughout this time, please know ofmy sincere love and concern for all of you and
your families. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Let us pray together that this timeof renewed
optimism for an end to this timeof crisis may soon be brought to fulfillment by the power ofGod's loving
care and providence.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
