Which is the correct spelling? Merriam-Webster’s 10th edition lists just one. But we’ve seen all threeversions published in some very credible sources, leaving us to wonder about which is actually correct. However, if you’re in the market for...uh...one of these things for use at a wedding, gala, or other high-end celebration, it probably doesn’t matter all that much as long as the quality is there. And there’s no question that you can always rely on Norsic equipment to provide the kind of quality that’sworthy of the most important and elegant festivities. If your plans include such units, give us a call and make an appointment to see our many models...of them. And if you care about spelling, andyou have a theory as to which of the three is most correct, visit our Facebook page and post it there. We’dlove to know which version you think is most acceptable: http://www.facebook.com/emilnorsic

East Wind SpaBy Jessica Mackin

East Wind is a premier destination resort for those ready to tie the knot on Long Island. Located in Wading River, East Wind provides a luxurious experience to everyone who walks through the doors and into one of its

50 uniquely decorated guest rooms and suites.

A great way to celebrate with bridesmaids, get rid of some pre-wedding stress, or relax post-nuptials is by taking a trip to the Spa at East Wind. Last month while covering the

East Wind Bridal Show I stopped in at the spa for some R & R with a few of my girlfriends.

As we arrived we were welcomed into the pristine spa lounge. My girlfriends and I made sure to arrive early to enjoy full use of the spa amenities such as the steam room, rain shower and sauna. Later we were each brought a glass of wine which we enjoyed while lounging in the relaxation room in our plush robes, restfully awaiting our treatments.

We were brought one by one into the massage rooms for our treatments. I received a 50 minute Essentials Massage, which includes long gliding strokes designed to ease tension and increase circulation, promoting good health and well-being. It was nothing short of amazing. We came out of treatment feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated, we could have melted into the relaxation room lounge chairs and stayed there forever.

Next up, it was time for the Champagne & Roses Royal Treatment Mani-Pedi. Inspired by the fruit of the vine, this decadent treatment starts off with a champagne fizz bath accompanied by an exfoliating salt scrub followed by a cuticle clean up, nail shaping, moisture-rich massage and polish.

We ended the spa day with one more trip to the relaxation room, soaking up the scenery and listening to the soothing sounds of the water fountain. The day was absolute perfection.

Bridal Reflections

By Jessica Mackin Bridal Reflections located on Long

Island (Massapequa and Westbury) and New York City (Fifth Avenue) offers three beautifully appointed salons with one of the finest selections of couture gowns. The family-owned and operated salon has been helping brides for the past 40 years. I met with Vice President Cristina DeMarco at the Fifth Avenue location to pick out gowns for our photo shoot (see page C-11). She showed me the inner workings of Bridal Reflections.

The knowledgeable, friendly staff insists that every bride feels comfortable and unhurried when selecting a gown for her special day. It’s no wonder they were recognized by Brides Magazine as the “Most Chic” salon in the New York Metropolitan area. The staff at Bridal Reflections knows what goes into making every bride look and feel as special as the moment. They have also been the winner of “The Knot’s” best wedding award for years. Bridal Reflections also takes part in the charity “Soldier Bride” which donates hundreds of gowns each year to brides in the military or the fiances of servicemen.

Bridal Reflections recently dressed Lala Vazquez, TV personality and star of VH1’s “My Full Court Wedding”

with her husband and NY Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, in a gorgeous gown by Romona Keveza. Other designers they sell include Anne Barge, St. Pucci, Lazaro and Badgley Mischka. They will also help bridesmaids, mothers of the bride, and grooms find something that perfectly complements the look and feel of the brides wedding day.
