Maintenance Worker - Casual The Bethania Group is currently recruiting for a CASUAL Maintenance Worker to join our dedicated team of professionals at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home located at 1045 Concordia Avenue in Winnipeg. Casual status is defined as being utilized on an "as needed basis" only, and there is no guaranteed hours associated with casual status. We strive to provide the highest quality of care to all of our residents and tenants. To that end, we depend on the skills and compassionate caring of individuals in a variety of disciplines including our Maintenance Team. The ability to respond to service requests both verbally and written from our HIPPO Work Order System in an efficient and timely manner is critical. Successful candidates will have 1-3 years previous experience working in a maintenance position where the tasks performed required a basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing and electrical. Ability to communicate well in English verbally and written is a requirement. As a successful candidate, your past experience reflects that you are committed to customer service and have a strong attention to detail. You can work efficiently as part of a team and/or independently. You are in good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the job. A valid Class 5 Full Drivers License is required. Previous experience working in a long term care facility will be considered an asset. Suitable candidates must be available to work various shifts including weekdays and weekends including possible on-call. This position is a unionized position under our CUPE Collective Agreement. Successful candidates are required to provide a current (within the last year) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Adult Abuse Registry Check. In exchange for your knowledge, experience and commitment to our team, we provide competitive compensation including the opportunity to immediately enroll in our Healthcare Employee's Pension Plan (HEPP) and Employee Assistance Plan (EAP).
