2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC (IF ANY AT DEPARTMENT LEVEL)
IQAC plans all the requirements of the institution. It involves in the following activities.
1. IQAC reviews the academic programmes which are running timely and fulfill the
requirements.
2. IQAC plans to conduct various seminars, conferences, guest lectures, workshops and quiz
programmes.
3. IQAC also performs academic and administrative audit every year and whenever required.
4. IQAC encourages students and faculty members to participate in seminars, conferences and
workshops etc.

5. IQAC gives support to the students in participating NSS activities.
6. IQAC supports the research requirements timely depending on the requirements.

8. IQAC checks the syllabus timely to finish with in time thereby easier for the students to
prepare for the exams.
9. IQAC conduct remedial classes to the dull students to support their academic future.
10. IQAC plans to conduct bridge courses to the passing out students.
11. IQAC also plans to conduct campus placements by collaborating with various industries and
institutions.
12. IQAC placed separate committees for ragging, discipline, mentoring system, NSS cell
women grievance for the benefit of the students.

Nirmala College of Pharmacy follows the rules and regulations of Acharya Nagarjuna University
(ANU). The institutional faculty members prepare and suggest the revised and updated syllabus to
board of studies committee of ANU. The institution conducts regular theory and practicals with
updated novel experiments to enhance employability skills in student. The institution also
conducts bridge courses on advanced industrial requirements to improve placements in campus.

2.6 Innovative processes adopted by the Institution/Department in Teaching and Learning: Digital Technology enabled using LCD projectors to improve the application and analytical skills in
teaching and learning process. Research based pedagogy tools have been introduced to teachers to
enhance the research skill in students. The institution has established incubation center during this
academic year.

2.12 How does IQAC (if any at department level) Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching &
Learning processes:
IQAC is actively involved in the faculty development activities by organizing personality
development and orientation programmes periodically. Besides institute regularly organizes
Conferences, Seminars, FDP and also permits faculty to participate in National and International
Conferences, FDP and Workshops organized by other institutes.
IQAC monitors the teaching and learning process progress through review meetings conducted
periodically and also through direct supervision of the management timely. The faculty has to
submit the lesson plans and faculty work report regularly. The student’s assessment gives equal
weightage to the written, verbal and presentation skills which is assessed by regular seminars,
assignments, group discussions and internal tests which ensure the performance of the student in
its subject. IQAC arranges bridge courses and soft skill development programmes for enhancing
and updating the subject knowledge as well as continous personality developing activites for
students.
The evaluation of teaching process is done by academic performance index which include
feedback from students and other stakeholders.

5.6 Details of student counseling and career guidance
A mentor-mentee committee has been assigned in the college which monitors the mentoring
programme.
Each mentor is assigned with 15 students to monitor their progression.
Student counselling has been done with the help of parent teacher meeting in the presence of
head of the organisation.

5.8 Details of gender sensitization programmes
Women’s cell organised an interaction session with students along with class in-charges on
Sanitation and Problems raised with ragging, how to face the challenges in competitive world on

November, 2018.
The women cell conducted a Seminar for the girl students in association with Balavikas
foundation towards awareness of widow empowerment on 26th
October, 2018.
Women’s cell organised workshop about the Sanitation and gynic problems on August 2017,
association with IME.
Women’s day celebrations were organised on 8th
March 2018. More than 400 students and
faculty members celebrated international women’s day on 8th
March, 2018. The program was a
combination of informative session by eminent personality by civil court judge of mangalagiri
court Mrs. Bhavani and cultural program by the students and faculty. As a part of the
informative session a lecture by a Mrs. Bhavani. On “How to face Challenges in Society and
safety precautions for women” was organised. Drawing, poetry, dumbchards, conducted for girl
students, and Musical Chairs for faculty. The event end with National Anthem.

6.3 Quality improvement strategies adopted by the Institution/Department for each of the following:
6.3.1 Curriculum Development
Since the institution is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University there is a restricted syllabus.
However we have introduced special classes for the first year students on english subject to
develop communicative skills, training was given to the final years with the collaboration of Tech
Mahindra for meeting the needs of corporate organisations. A course end feedback is collected
from the students at the end of the every academic year and necessary amendments will be
implemented to full fill the need of the scenario. The results of mid exams are mapped with the
course outcomes and the achievement levels are indexed.
6.3.2 Teaching and Learning
Majority of classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors for effective teaching and learning
process. Group discussion and seminars of students are monitored to enhance their communication
and presentation skills.
6.3.3 Examination and Evaluation
Internal Examinations are conducted as per the regulations of the University.
Slip tests and assignments are conducted by the faculty after the completion of the topic.
In addition to these; GPAT model tests were also conducted.
External examinations are conducted as per university regulations.
6.3.4 Research and Development
All the laboratories in the institution are upgraded with major equipment which is very much
useful for the current research areas.
Faculty and students are advised by IQAC to utilize all the research equipments on their
interest, also to co-ordinate and actively participate in interdisciplinary research activities.
Faculty are advised to write proposals for research grants for the bodies like UGC, CSIR, DST
& AICTE for their research work to be done easily by getting financial assistance.
Institution encourages students to involve in research at their basic level by providing them
required things.
The institution has established an incubation center to carryout research.

SAB-IT and Student care infotech Software is installed to monitor attendance and time
punctuality of staff members.
Central Stores purchases and distributes, chemicals, equipments, computers, glassware to all
the departments and administrative staff.

The institution maintains staff student ration as 1: 15 for UG programme, whereas, 1:12 for PG
programmes.
The institution recruits required number of administrative staff, lab technicians and supporting
staff for the smooth running of organization.
The institution provides EPF for teaching and non teaching staff. It also provides employees
state insurance to non teaching staff.

Industrial collaborative workshop was organised for the department of Pharmacology and
Pharmaceutics. Dr.G Ramesh, Manager, AET Pharmaceuticals limited., Hyderabd has delivered a
talk on QbD for the formulation development. Sri Manjunath, Asst Manger, Quintiles ltd.
Bangalore delivered a seminar on software application in Clinical Data Management and Clinical
Research.

parent suggestions are considered to develop the institution both academic and non academic.

Instructional innovation and startup committee announce and collect novel thoughts and
ideas from students and faculty. The best are awarded in annual day celebrations.
Passed out students thesis and power point presentations are kept in library and
departments to encourage and support their project as a source of reference.
Faculties participated in various conferences, seminars, workshop, faculty development
programme, share and exchange their knowledge and experiences to all faculty members as

Admission committee proposals have been supported for the successful enrollment in all the
programmes.
IQAC planned for the successful completion of B Pharm, M Pharm and Pharm D projects in
time during the academic year 2017-18.
Students pass percentage in university examinations have been achieved more than 90% in
all the programmes.
Institutional programmes such as conferences, seminars, workshops, guest lectures are
completed as per IQAC calendar.
The institution conducted social service activities and awareness programmes in villages in
collaboration with state, central, NGO and private bodies.

1. Women grievance cell established to implement a mechanism for counseling and guidance
for the girls students, their grievances redressal and to educate them about women
empowerment. To plan and execute a mechanism for organizing awareness programs,
motivational talks including visits to the public / government run women guidance cells, to
expose them to various opportunities available to women in particular in the professional field
of pharmacy,
Support and encourage girl students to assist and apply scholarships and financial assistance
from the Central/State government and NGO. As in our institution more than 75% of girls
students are studying, an awareness programme was conducted and delivered talk by Smt. V
Bhavani, Judge civil court mangalagiri on “woman power and woman rights”. In addition to
that, collaboration with Sneha Mahila Mandal, president Smt. V. Vani delivered a
presentation to all the students including boys on “woman role in society”. The women
grievance cell also conduct special classes for slow learners. The cell creates awareness
among the girls on behavior, discipline, moral values, social responsibilities.
2. Social service scheme is promoted to inculcate social values in students to provide service to
society. This make the students to understand the community in which they work,
understand themselves in relation to their community, identify the needs and problems of the
community and involve them in problem-solving ,develop among themselves a sense of social
and civic responsibility, utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual
and community problems. To develop competence required for group-living and sharing of
responsibilities, gain skills in mobilizing community participation, acquire leadership
qualities and democratic attitudes. To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural
disasters and practice national integration and social harmony.
