Based on the previous section we will now start discussing our solution components and present a general overview on their performance details.
(1) Audio Matrix: This represents the main central point of the public address system, with monitored 8 inputs and 8 outputs thru a local speaker and expandable capacity. This audio matrix includes two built-in digital messages of CD quality and SD card for message storage. Digital signal processing and graphic equalizing of the audio signals are done thru its built in DSP. The Audio matrix will be loaded identically with the following:
a. “MANxC” MERLAUD Matrix management processor b. “PMH 8EC” MERLAUD Pre-amplifier
Where item (a) is meant for controlling the audio switching matrix (MANx88) and process DMTF commands sent by this matrix in the PA system. Also manages the paging desks by a serial link to allow zone selection for the status of switching. This is achieved by linking the paging desks and the audio sources with an audio and mic/line links via the controller module (a). And Item (b) will allow each audio source of the CD/DVD player and AM/FM tuner to be amplified before connects with an audio links to audio matrix and controller. Refer to Appendix 1: Data Sheets- Audio Matrix (MANx88), Matrix Controller (MANXc) and Pre-amplifier (PMH 8EC).
(2) Audio Sources: This represents the CD/DVD Player and AM/FM Tuner used as audio sources for the background music in the system.
Refer to Appendix 2: Data Sheet – CD/DVD Player (Pioneer DV-430V) and AM/FM Tuner (Pioneer F208).
(3) Power Amplifiers: The purpose of this device is to amplify the audio output signals of the Audio Matrix to the speaker power level of the broadcasted paging, announcements or background music with acceptable level of speech intelligibility.
Refer to Appendix 3: Data Sheet – Dual channel power amplifier (AMN250)
(4) Paging Desks: This represents the paging microphone by which the operator is to have
the priority over audio or audio source within the system for local paging or announcements. Each paging desk has its own pre-amplifier and chime, fitted with one All call push button operation, chime triggering and talk, and 8-additional push buttons for zone selection.
Refer to Appendix 4: Data Sheet – Paging Mics (DA8).

(5) Monitor Control Panel: The purpose of this device is to monitor sound signals at
loudspeaker level. This Unit contains 9 position input-selector switch, volume control with on/off switch and pilot lamp. Refer to Appendix 5: Data Sheet – Monitor Control Panel (CPN 2U).
(6) Public Address System Cabling: This represents the used cables in the system for connecting all the public address system components. The Cabling system will be loaded identically with the following:
a. “14293” CONDUCFIL Speaker cable b. “14298” CONDUCFIL Microphone cable
Where item (a) is meant for sound distribution by connecting the speakers zones to their related power amplifiers. While Item (B) is used for the connection of the paging desks to the Audio Matrix for Audio and 24V DC power supply from the rack. Refer to Appendix 6: Data Sheets- CONDUCFIL Cables (14293) and (14298).
