STOP MOTION Technique

O For my Stop Motion animation, I will be using a mixture of Pixilation and Cutout.

O I will be taking pictures of real people, but cutting out part of them to manipulate them. Every part on the background will be a real photo, individually but blended together to make the set. For example, I will take photos of different shops and put them together to make a high street.

O We will be using Flash to animate the story.

CONTENTThe story I am telling would be part of an adult sketch show. The story is about an elderly lady walking down the high street being followed by a youth planning to rob her. The youth keeps getting interrupted, firstly by slipping on a banana, then help up by men carrying a box, falls in a hole, and then out of no where, a piano falls on him. The elderly lady has to sign for her parcel aka the piano.

AUDIENCE O The audience for this animation

would be 15+ as it is an adult sketch show, and contains swearing and a dark sense of humour.

O People like this as the animation has a dark sense of humour, and would fit alongside the other comedy in the programme.

INSPIRATIONO The inspiration for this type of animation is the

beginning titles of Celebrity Juice, where they use Cut Out animation to introduce the people who work on the show.

DIALOGUEO The comedy is mainly focused on the

physical storyline so dialogue isn’t important. However the characters will have fairly exaggerated voices.

O The only lines in the story is when the piano falls on the youth, in which the elderly lady says “Little fucker”, and the delivery man comes over and says “Can you sign for this” in a cockney accent, as it is based in L

SOUND EFFECTSO The sound effects are really important

for our story as there isn’t much dialogue. Sounds will will use are: sound of traffic/ high street, slurping noise for the banana slip, comedy fall noise, scuffling, noise of zimmerframe, noise of two men talking to each other, footsteps, sound of wind as youth falls down hole, crash noise, noise of crashing piano.
