STEP 4 GOALS
GOAL 1: KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO MONETISE YOUR VIDEOS
© World Film Collective
When you enable monetisation on your channel, you are
able to make money through your videos being on YouTube.
Once your video has been submitted and approved for
monetisation, YouTube will place ads inside or near the video.
After you’ve associated an AdSense account with your
YouTube account, you will earn revenue that is generated
from the ads

Having at least one video approved for monetisation
makes you a YouTube partner, which provides you
with opportunities to improve your skills and build your
audiences.

An example of a TrueView Skippable advert
that you can choose to skip after 5 seconds.
If a person watching your video watches the
whole advert, you may earn more money.
Information about how much money you can make is kept
strictly confidential by Google and all Google partners agree
to not discuss this.
It is not possible to accurately estimate earnings as many
factors are involved.

You can only earn money from videos in which you either
own all the content, or have written permission to use content
that you do not own.
If a person views your video on certain mobile devices or uses
an ad blocker to block the ads on your video, those views will
not earn you any money.

“…becoming one of the top creators on YouTube takes
consistency, a nonstop work schedule and a growing
audience that have chosen to spend their valuable time
watching your videos instead of the millions of others found on
YouTube.”
