Children's Catechesis will NOT meet on Sunday,

January 20th due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Classes resume on Sunday, January 27th.

Holiday Hours The Parish Center and St. Mark Catholic School will be closed on Monday, January 21st, in observation

of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

There will not be coffee and donuts on Sunday, January 20th, due to the MLK Jr. Holiday.

Marriage Day Celebration: The Office of Marriage and Family Life

invites all married couples (whether married 75 years or only 2 months) of the Archdiocese of

Indianapolis to a special celebration to honor the sanctity

of marriage on February 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Ss. Peter

and Paul Cathedral. Archbishop Charles Thompson will celebrate the Mass. A reception will follow

at the Catholic Center in Assembly Hall. The event is free of charge, but registration is

required.

This class is one of three classes held at St. Mark Parish for any non-English speaking persons. Classes begin January 8. Save the Date! St. Mark Dinner Dance

Friday, February 22 Come Sail Away!

The annual Dinner Dance will take place on Friday, February 22, 2019, and will be held at Valle Vista Golf

and Conference Center (755 East Main Street, Greenwood). Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the silent auction with dinner served at 7 p.m. Tickets will be

sold after all weekend masses January 26th - February 3rd for $35 per person. After February 3rd tickets will be sold for $40 each. Third Generation will provide the music

for the evening. A silent auction, raffle, and other entertainment will also be provided. Please contact Sarah or Eugene Vivo (317-862-8486) if you have any questions.

The Dinner Dance committee is also seeking donations

for the silent auction and raffle to be held during the Dinner Dance. Suggested items include gift cards, bottles of beer, wine, and/or liquor, cash to purchase items, and

any new items that someone would like to win. Also, if you know a business owner who would like to donate a

service or item, those are appreciated also. You can drop items off at the Parish Center or contact Molly Burns at 317-440-6071 or [email protected] to schedule

Indiana March for Life MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH RALLY:

We would love for your middle school student to join us for this year's Jr. High Youth Rally: Holy, Holy, Holy. The Jr. High Youth Rally is a one-day event for all students in grades 6-8 to explore their faith and grow deeper in relationship with Christ through music, prayer, and talks prepared by our keynote speaker and high

school breakout presenters. This event is presented by the youth ministers of the South Deanery and will have attendees from across the Archdiocese. Date: Saturday, February 2, 2019 Time: 1 p.m. dropoff - 8:30 p.m. pickup Where: Roncalli High School Register at https://nativityindy.org/jr-high-youth-rally by January 18 for the reduced rate of $30 which includes a t-shirt, sling bag, and dinner along with many fun activities. On the left side of the webpage look for the St. Mark button. After January 18, the price increases to $40. If cost is a problem for your child, please let me know and we will make other arrangements. We want all who wish to attend to be able to do so. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions. Cookie Drop Bakers, we need your help for our annual St. Mark Cookie Drop for the seminarians at Bishop Simon Brute Seminary. Please bring a dozen cookies (or more) to the parish office by Friday, February 8. They will be packaged and delivered to the seminarians the following week in time for Valentine's Day. Letters of Intent for the 2019-2020 school year will be sent home with the oldest child of current St. Mark Catholic School Families for the purpose of securing spots for the 2019-2020

St. Mark Parishioner Families that do not currently (2018-2019 school year) have children at St. Mark Catholic School may

Early Bird Pre-Kindergarten Registration is Now Open!

Registration for St. Mark Catholic School 2019-2020 Pre-Kindergarten program is now open for those children age 4 by August 1, 2019. Our Pre-K program is a full day, 5

days a week program, and follows our normal school schedule.

The registration fee for Pre-K is $200. You may register in the school office or by emailing Mr. Albertson at

[email protected]. Please call the school office at (317) 786-4013 with any

questions you may have.

St. Mark Spaghetti Dinner Saturday, January 26th, 5-7:30

The St. Mark PTG Spaghetti Dinner is quickly approaching! The Spaghetti Dinner is a great social event that brings our St. Mark

families together for a great meal while raising money. Meal includes spaghetti and

meatballs, ziti, garlic bread, salad, and dessert!

Prices: Family $20 Adult $8 Youth (5-12) $5 Senior Citizen $5 Children 4 and under eat free

Busy Moms retreat with Sisters of Providence All busy mothers are

invited to join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods,

Indiana, for the upcoming “Retreat for Busy Catholic Moms,”

scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, to 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, in the Providence Hall Community Room. The time together will include

presentations, prayer, learning from others,

Mass, and more. Cost is $220, which includes lodging and meals, or $130 without lodging. Lodging must be arranged

by Jan. 24, and the final registration deadline is Feb. 1. Register online at Events.SistersofProvidence.org or by

SOUTH DEANERY BAND SALUTE NIGHT

Who: 7th and 8th Grade South Deanery Band Members

What: Roncalli High School Band’s South deanery Band Salute Night

Where: Roncalli High School, Bandroom (room 117 first). We will be

playing on the gym stage. When: Friday, January 25th, 6:00 PM

Dress: A tee shirt, polo, or sweatshirt with your school’s name, and jeans, no shorts

RSVP to Miss Peach, [email protected]. We need to know how many people are coming for set up. We will not

turn anyone away. We can’t wait to see you! You will get to sit in with the band during the game. We sit

on the stage, so our seats are great! You will get third quarter off, just like the high school band kids, and you

can get up to $5.00 in free food at the concession stand. Games are usually over between 8:50 and 9:30 PM. It

depends on the pace of the game, overtime, etc. Come and join the Roncalli band and make some noise at

the basketball game!
