Merciful Father, you gave us shepherds as successors of the apostles to guide and govern your church. We implore your Holy Spirit to guide the selection process as a new bishop is chosen to lead our diocese. May he be a pastor filled with holiness and compas-sion who will foster healing and a greater love of your name. Allow our hearts to be open to the candidate of your choosing so that, together as disciples of Jesus, we may continue to build your kingdom. Amen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Feast of the Holy Family – December 29, 2019 Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, as members of the Holy Family, always supported each other in do-ing God’s will, even though this was not always easy and meant letting go and trusting God. As the family of God’s children, we are to help each other in doing God’s will, which may be a voca-tion to priesthood or religious life. Let us not stand in the way of those whom God has called. Prayer and Paint

Attention Ladies!! Join us for a Faith and Fun filled evening at St. Mary’s Parish Center on Wednes-day, January 15 at 6:00pm for “Prayer & Paint” Ladies Night! We will reflect on “Life After Sunday” by Lumen, and then Vino & Vernici will be there to teach us how to paint a beautiful pair of wine glasses that you will take home that night!! All ladies are welcome and no art or painting experience is required!! There is a fee of $10 per person. Please contact Jackie to sign up or for more info.

Greetings from Father John…. Dear Parishioners, Wish you all Merry Christmas. Joyous blessings of Heavenly Father and all heavenly Hosts be upon us. I went to home for my vacation from 28th Oct to 25th Nov. My home visits was really a good one and every-one waited to see me. I am the only sibling left in my family. My parents and my three brothers and sister passed away. This time I could not visit all my rela-tives. I was there for two events. One was for my par-ents’ headstone blessing on Nov 2 and secondly I had a chance to join and give my great niece her First Holy Communion on 16 Nov. My journey to home was a very good one, though about 20 hours flight, and thank you all for your prayers. Apart from visiting my family, I went to Our Lady of Velankanny Shrine, a basilica, 5.30 hours drive from my home, and joined the Noon Tamil Mass. Someone asked us whether we visited another Our Lady Church very close by, known as Madharasi Maadha Church at Nagapattinam. It is at harbor area behind the Light house. I too had never heard about it. So we took inter-est to go and see it. It was built in 1600 by Portuguese and still it is maintained. At the time of Tsunami, wa-ter came up to the Church, a lot of damage took place around the area but no water entered the church, just like the Basilica. Please google to read the amazing miracle of the statue happened there “Madrasi Matha Church, Nagapattinam”. Then you will know why and how devotion to Our Lady is very strong in my state of Tamil Nadu and in the same way “Our Lady of Velankanny, Basilica”, its origin and miracles.

ma Mary and obtain special Blessings of the Nativity

of our Lord and may the whole world share the Hope,

Love, Joy and Peace of Jesus offered to us.

Hello, my name is… ….Beth Skehan and I’m excited to be taking on the role of your new Business Administrator beginning mid-January. Tom and I will be working to create a smooth transition as he and his wife, Eileen, retire to new experi-ences. We can all thank Tom for his service to our parish and for helping to facilitate the St. Mary’s Renovation. It will be a stunning tribute to Our Lady. May we pray that those who have left will feel the invitation from Mary to return. I have never been involved in such a warm and inviting community as our St. Mary/St. Mark parish. I ask for your prayers and support as I begin this new challenge and I look forward to working with our congregation. May God Bless us all on this journey ahead.
