FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT

Recently I attended the St. Lawrence deanery

meeting, and one of the topics that was discussed was

priest coverage of the new Mercy Hospital on North

Bend Road. During the discussion, the priests were

reminded that because of the HIPPA privacy laws, the

hospitals no longer call the parishes to notify them

when parishioners check into the hospital. Over the

years, this has caused some problems with missing

people in the hospital, simply because the parish was

never notified, because of HIPPA. The priests do want

to make sure that everyone who wants to be visited in

the hospital, and who wants to receive the Sacraments

is able to receive them. If you, or someone you know is

ever admitted to the hospital, you are highly

encouraged to contact the parish to let us know,

because we can no longer expect the hospitals to call.

Take Good Care,

Fr. Bryan

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT

Dear Parishioners:

If everything is going according to plan, I am

currently running the 150 mile run in Illinois,

assuming you read this article right after Mass. The race

officially ends at 5:00PM, though I am hopeful to finish a

couple of hours ahead of the cutoff.

If you would like to make a donation to the memorial

bench for those who have served in the military, donations

can be made online at https://

saintantoninus.weshareonline.org/# or donations can be set

up through Steffany in the rectory office at 922-5400.

For parishioners and students who wish to follow my run,

I have set up a Twitter account at SeeJackRun. If there is

good reception, I will tweet updates every ten miles. Please

keep me in your prayers as I try to finish the full 150 miles.

Please say a prayer for all the eighth graders and their

parents who are currently on the Washington D.C. trip.

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP As we approach the celebration of the

Tridium -- with all the beauty of those three days

ending with the Easter Vigil -- the prayer group is

going to spend the next two Tuesday evenings focusing on

the Easter Vigil service. Several members of the prayer

group will read, reflect, and share their thoughts on one of

the Scriptural readings proclaimed at the Vigil. In the past

when we’ve done this with other Bible verses, it has been

amazing to see the depth of meaning that is to be had by

gaining insight from one another’s thoughts.

We will also discuss some of the other components of

the Vigil, such as the “Blessing of the Fire” and

“Preparation of the Paschal Candle.” Join us for these

evenings of preparation in order to make your Holy Week

and Easter more inspiring and understandable. In Chapel,

7:30 PM.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY

The Gospel today, challenges us to see and believe the

signs of grace in our lives: joy, peace, forgiveness, mercy

and kindness. Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de

Paul brings joy, peace, forgiveness, mercy and kindness

to the hurting hearts of the poor.

New: On the St. Antoninus website, a WeShare link has

been added so you may make your donation to our St.

Antoninus Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Thank You!

The Athletic Club is hosting the Spring Sports

Celebration on Friday, May 2, 2014, from 6 – 9 PM at the

Schott Field Memorial Patio. There will be a grill out with

brats, metts and hot dogs provided. Bring your cooler with

drinks for your family and a side dish or desert to share.

We will also have the forms available to purchase engraved

ST. JOSEPH STEWARDSHIP

March 29 & 30, 2014

Weekly amount needed $26,540 Remember St. Antoninus Parish in your will.

When Jesus heard about the illness of His friend, Lazarus,

He responded, “This illness is not to end in death; rather it

is for God’s glory, that through it the Son of God may be

glorified.” Every aspect of our lives — our gifts as well as

our sufferings — can, if surrendered to Christ, lead to

blessing for others and ourselves. See John 11:4

CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL DONATIONS

Please return your pledge as soon as possible. No

donation is too small. The Catholic Ministries Appeal offers

us the opportunity to live as Disciples of Christ by

supporting ministries serving people throughout our

Archdiocese. So far Saint Antoninus Parish parishioners

have pledged $27,566 which is 53.59% of our goal.

For 800 years the Holy Land Franciscans have served in

the land made holy by the life, suffering, death and

resurrection of Jesus. With your support, the Holy Land

Franciscans will continue to nourish Christians in the Holy

Land with their presence, care and service. Together, we

can support Christianity in the Holy Land. Included in the

April collection packet is the Good Friday donation

envelope. Thank you!

The area under the portico in front of the church doors

is for drop-off and pick-up of passengers only. There

will be no parking allowed in that area. Official “No

Parking” signs are posted. Thank you.

TRAVELING CHALICE
