Solids, Liquids and Gases

Our new science topic this half term is all about

materials and solids, liquids and gases.

Solids, Liquids and GasesWe learnt that solids, liquids and gases are made up of tiny

particles and learnt how particles act in solids, liquids and gases.

We became the particles…

Solids, Liquids and GasesWe started as the particles in a solid and realised that we

couldn’t move around a lot. From this we understood that solids are not easily broken.

Solids, Liquids and GasesNext we became liquids we were able to move around more as the particles.

From this we learnt that liquids are able to flow and can be poured

because the particles can move around more easily.

Solids, Liquids and GasesFinally we became gases and we had a lot more freedom as particles to move around.

From this we learnt that gases spread out quickly and are all

around us.

Next week we are going to be testing whether liquids flow at different speeds.
