PARISH NEWS My dear parishioners and friends, I can't thank you enough for your generosity to the parish especially during this time of the Capital Campaign. The family of Blessed Sacrament is wonderful and I'm honored to be part of it. As you know we've done quite well in our parish capital campaign to date, raising almost four million dollars in pledges over the next five years. The campaign was started because of a true need in the parish, but a campaign of this magnitude is quite difficult to process completely in house. So after some discussions, the Archdiocesan Development agreed to supply the help we need, at no cost to the parish. Some donations we are able to administer here at the parish, while the archdiocese helps us track and process others. We updated all pledge forms in the fall so that this would be clearly stated in the campaign literature, and so hope this is not a surprise to many. I feel the need to clarify this because we have received a few calls from donors asking why they have received billing and tax slips for The archdiocese. I will admit that I was shocked to receive a tax acknowledgment from the archdiocese signed by someone other than myself. But this has been cleared up. Moving forward any installment on pledges made over the five years can be sent into the archdiocese using the billing slip they provide or into the parish office. All the monies of this Capital Campaign, while processed through the development office of the archdiocese will come to the parish. Again, I thank the 318 members of the parish who have contributed to the Capital Campaign and I urge those who have not just done so, to think about what you might be able to offer. Together let us restore our home, this beautiful Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Please pray for peace Father Duffell

CHURCH CAMPAIGN AND REPAIR UPDATE February 2017 We are very happy to announce that the exterior repair work has finally begun with the scaffolding rising along the church façade. This extensive project includes work on the building’s roof, façade, and side elevations, and will take about 400 days to complete. We have already received the first Invoice from the contractor, totaling $450,000, for the "general conditions" including a significant portion of scaffolding start-up costs. Thankfully, so many have come forward to help in this great effort. As of January 31, 2017 the parish, through 318 gifts, has raised $3,877,586 of its $4,000,000 goal to cover the cost of this necessary work. Not everyone can give equally, but each has given sacrificially. We continue to reach out to those families that, during Commitment Weekend, asked for a little more time to pray about their decision, and we hope that they too can sponsor this work. Thanks to everyone who is so generously supporting this vital project, and if you are interested in helping, please contact the Rectory staff for more details.

Revd DAngelo Jimenez.
