Message from Fr. Michal . . .
Dear Parishioners, Benefactors, & Friends of Sacred Heart Parish:
During this special Christmas season, we remember the baby Jesus, wrapped in swaddling clothes, laid in a manger, smiling up at His mother Mary – that is the true God, a God who comes to meet us right where we are at. This year has been a tough year for everyone. We have all faced challenging circumstances and situa ons. But, God comes to us wherever and however we are. He came to Joseph and Mary in a poor stable‐cave while they were wai ng to register for the census. He came to the shepherds as they were working and fulfilling their du es herding their sheep. He comes to us today in the same way – mee ng us where we’re at. The beauty of this is not just that He comes to us where we are but that He also does not want to leave us there. He comes into our lives in order to invite us into His life; to follow Him all the way to Heaven.
As we celebrate Christmas and head into a new year with new challenges, new opportuni es, and new beginnings, let’s take up God’s gentle invita on to let Christ come further into our lives. Let’s let His light shine brightly in our hearts, leading each of us to a stronger rela onship with Him. May He bless each one of us and guide us through the high and low mes. Please join me in prayer that God will con nue to guide our parish leadership, staff members, and ministry leaders with insight into His plan for our church and school.
Upon reflec ng on our many blessings here at Sacred Heart, we thank each of you for your prayers, hard work, and commitment to our Parish. Together with the en re staff of Sacred Heart Parish and School, we wish you and your family peace during this special season, and throughout the year. May Christ’s love fill your hearts with joy, remind you of your own birth to a new life through Him, and strengthen you as you go through each day. We pray you have a Christ‐filled holiday and remember the true reason of the Christmas season.
Happy Birthday Jesus and Christmas Blessings to all of you!

School News
The staff of Sacred Heart School would like to wish the parish community all the peace, love, and happiness that the true meaning of Christmas brings. Thank you for your support and prayers throughout 2020. Your goodwill and passion for the children and school are greatly appreciated. Have a blessed Christmas rejoicing in the glory of the birth of Christ!
Our junior high students went Christmas caroling at two local senior homes. It was beau ful to hear their voices while they cheered up so many residents. What a day filled with Christmas spirit!
Many of our SHS students entered the “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest sponsored by the Effingham Knights of Columbus.
This week, the staff and students enjoyed the Grinch and Buddy the Elf Days.
