Friday 23 rd June 2017 Dear Parents, Bronze Award Well done to Jessica G from Maple Class, Year 3, for achieving her Bronze Award. She completed some math’s problems to achieve her final merit. Stars of the week Oak – Freddie – for an excellent effort with behaviour and trying really hard with his phonics. Beech – Lily – for working so hard to try and write her name using a pen! Elm – Harrison – for fantastic understanding of shape and symmetry. Creative Lab – Mia – for designing and making a Peublo pot. Y3 Maple – Grace – for really listening to the story of Buddha and explaining the lessons to be learned. Y3 Ash – Daniel – for a really superb week. You have grown in confidence and really impressed me in all subjects. Y4 – Ethan – for working hard in all subjects this week. Y5 – Parker – fabulous problem solving in our using and applying maths session. Y6 – Maddy – for an excellent piece of transition writing. Beanies In Beanies this week we have enjoyed playing outside in the lovely weather. We have been twirling ribbons and building towers as tall as each other. We have taken turns in the mud kitchen and been singing our phonics song. Next week’s letter of the week is L please help your child to find items to represent this sound to share at Beanies.

Nursery Places From September 2017 we will be offering 30 hour funded places for eligible 2/3 and 4 year olds. Please contact the school office to reserve your place. We do have plenty of capacity and will recruit additional staff if necessary to facilitate the full offer for our parents. Please can all current and future Nursery parents call into the school office to complete the expression of interest form for sessions required in September 2017 and January 2018. Big Gig – 16th July 2017 We are volunteers of the 'Friends of Jean Stansfield Park' We are contacting local schools and are requesting the help of the people of Poulton and the surrounding areas. Our large fundraising event 'The Big Gig' is being held on 16 July this year. One of the stalls is the Tombola stall which is very popular with the children. We need donations please of new or unused toys or gifts for our stall. It's for a fantastic cause to raise money to develop the park for the children and young people and so far, has been very successful in raising funds for new play equipment. So please if you have anything suitable to donate could you please contact - [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] We can arrange collection or alternatively we have a drop off point at The Mortgage Factory 2 Queens Square Poulton, just pop in anytime during office hours - all donations gratefully accepted by 10 July please. Additionally, the Friends of JSVP are looking for volunteers to act as stewards at this music extravaganza. If you are willing and think you may be available to help out please email [email protected] Stewards must be at least 21 years old and are asked to be available for a 2 hour session. Duties will be light and stewards will have the opportunity to enjoy the wide range of music and other events on the park. Summer Spanish Club Looking for an educational and fun childcare solution for the summer holidays? Fylde Foreign Language Centre is offering a Spanish Summer School for children aged 6 to 11. The school will run from Monday 24th until Friday 28th July from 9am until 3pm and will be a fun-filled day of Spanish learning activities. The classes are suitable for beginners and students who have prior knowledge. The cost for 5 days (Monday to Friday) is £90, or £20 per day. The teachers are fully PGCE qualified and DBS checked.
