On March 16, 2011, RC Holy Spirit
turned over two computer sets to the
Dona Juana Elementary School forthe use of Special Education (SpEd)
pupils. Presently, there are 102 SpEd
pupils in the school with various dis-
abilities: hearing impairment, mental
retardation, autism, developmental
disorder like ADHD (Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder), handled by
four dedicated teachers led by Mrs
Gloria C Tatad. According to Mrs Ta-
tad, all the SPED pupils will be given
computer lessons. In particular, the
older ones (aged 18-24) will be taught
simple typing jobs to enable them to
realize their potentials for development and productivity and eventually become pro
ductive members of society.
The two refurbished computers were acquired through the fund-raising efforts o
Treasurer Marcia and the generous support of Rotarians and friends. Later, o
March 24, Treasurer Marcia personally donated two new printers to the school fo
the use of the special children so that they could better appreciate their hands-o
exercises and facilitate their learning.

Thank you for uploading news bulle-
tin of the Rotary Club of Holy Spirit.
I am honored to have known people who care, people who despite busy lives find time to reach
out to those who need it. In my heart I will al-
ways be thankful to the generosity of the Rotary
Club. Your donations to the school all these
years have gone a long way. I am proud to tell
you that the beneficiaries of the manicuring
sets are already skilled and are on their way to
discover livelihood opportunities.
You reminded me of a Chinese proverb," GIVE
A MAN A FISH, AND HE LIVES FOR A DAY,
TEACH HIM HOW TO FISH AND HE IS FED A
LIFETIME."
Thank you Rotary Club of Holy spirit for making
a difference to our students. More power and
God bless you all!
Sincerely,
ZAIDA M. PADULLO
Message from Ms Zaida M. Padullo, Prin-cipal of Holy Spirit National High School
Being a participant in the Rotary's project BUKAS (Bayan Uunlad Kabataan Ating Subaybayan) has been
another wonderful experience for me. And I would like to thank the Rotary Club of Holy Spirit for sending me
as a participant to the said event.
It was 7:30 in the morning of March 19, 2011 when i was advised by Ma'am Marcia of RCHS to meet
the Rotarians of Cubao East at the Quezon City hall. At first i was quite nervous because I felt being stranger to my co-participants. But I became so glad that right after we started the bus trip. I soon found
out that all of them were really friendly.
We arrived at L'Caraz resort at Nasugbu Batangas at lunch time. We took our lunch first and then started
with our first lesson. The topic was love for one’s self, and love for the family. I found our topic so interest-
ing. Our speaker was very talented. I’ve learned many new things. Before bedtime we had a bonfire and
also i took the opportunity to go swimming at the pool and at the beach during the morning.
Wheew! It was quite an unforgettable experience for me.
Interact PE Harold Maggay relates his Bukas experience
Note from the Editors:
We thank Mrs Zaida M. Padullo, Principal of the Holy
Spirit National High School, for the unsolicited messageof recognition. Earlier, we had sent recent issues of The
Dove to update Ma’am Zaida of the community service
projects being contributed by the Interact Club.

During the March 26th panel discussion moderated by
former cabinet secretary, provincial governor and TV
host Hon. Oscar Orbos, District Governors of D3780—
past, present and future—all agreed that Rotary princi-
ples and initiatives are relevant today as ever. Drilling down to the local level, Sec Orbos posed some thought
provoking questions to the panelists and the audience,
including this one typically asked by consultants when-
ever they re-engineer business processes: What would
be missed if your Rotary Club suddenly ceased to exist?
What would be missed by the community?
By club members?
By vocations served by Rotarians?
By the new generation or youth?
By international peace & understanding and by The
Rotary Foundation?
