It was a first time for RC Holy Spirit to host a ma-jor District-designated training seminar, and withproper planning and concerted effort by clubmembers, SETS 2013 turned out to be a re-sounding success. A specialized, somewhattechnical seminar, SETS had 60 participantsfrom 54 clubs who came to learn how to helpmake their clubs effective and functioning Ro-tary clubs. The key characteristics of a wellplanned and executed seminar were there: theparticipants arrived on time, the seminar startedon time, the program proceeded like clockwork, and the participants stayed on till the seminar

    ended promptly on time.

SETS 2013 Chair LGD Linda Palattao of RC HolySpirit welcomed all participants and guests aspart of the opening program. The retinue of dis-tinguished speakers had undoubtedly been asource of valued information and inspiration tothe participants. Before the start of the seminar

proper, District Trainer PDG Dan Espinosa gavean Overview of the SETS. IDG Francis Riverathen presented the Rotary International Themeand Thrusts, and the District Thrusts. DSD MarCancio discussed District Policies and Guide-lines, while COSD Francis Paderna with the assis-tance of DCOSD Gerry Buhain presented the Dis-trict Communications Structure. quirements; Ric Salvador, Club Bulletin; Dwight Ramos, Working with Club/DistricLeaders; LG Chito Borromeo, Preparing your Scessor. Inspirational messages were sharedPDG Dulce Coyukiat on If I Could Be a SecreAgain, and IPDG Jess Cifra on Servant Leaship, with his trademark umbrella tokens. PePresident Marcia Salvador of RC Holy Spirit d

    ered the closing remarks.

The program was spiced with raffle prizes wwere donated by President Marcia, PE Dr Band Treasurer Peth Rivera. To everyones prise and delight, the seminar was capped wiserenade by the Incoming First-Class Preside

    to their First-Class Secretaries.

The seminar was largely successful becausthe support and cooperation of RCHS membwho manned the registration desk, participain the program, and to exemplify servant lea

ship, even fixed coffee and served snacks waiters. Special thanks go to Rotaractors Kand Alyssa who were a great help during seminar. Thanks too, to co-hosts RCs AHeights, Greenmeadows, Loyola Heights, Manila East, Quezon City, and Timog, as weto co-sponsors RCs Mega Edsa and Metro SFwithout whose support the seminar would have been as successful.
