Holy Spirit ushers in new Rotary year with chil-dren's party for SPED pupils on July 2nd

To welcome the new Rotaryyear, RC Holy Spirit will hold achildrens party for 50 SPEDpupils of the Dona Juana Ele-mentary School in BarangayHoly Spirit on July 2, 2012.With assistance from membersof the Interact and Rotaractclubs, and the SPED teaching staff, RCHS hopes to cheer upthe SPED pupils with fun games, gifts & prizes and food.

This heralds the start of the Clubs year of service to showthe community that we care for the childrens welfare.Most other Rotary clubs in the Philippines are expected toparticipate in this Rotary initiative which is now on its sec-ond year.

Oriental medical and dental mission on J

A free Oriental medical and dental mission will be held onJuly 18, 2012 at the covered court of Don Antonio Heights.

The mission expects to serve 300 poor patients coming mostly from the economically depressed Kaligtasan areaBarangay Holy Spirit. Incoming PE Dr Eui Bong Jung willhead the mission and will be assisted by Dr Myeong Kim

and Dr Marlene Martinez.During the mission, a group of visiting Korean college stu-dents, sponsored by the Apgujeong Church in Seoul, Koreawill entertain underprivileged children with balloon-making,face painting and fun games. This is part of the students 5-day mission to learn Philippine culture and traditions. Withthe theme Embrace the World , the youths cultural learn-ing trip will also include visits to RCHS adopted schools,the Holy Spirit National High School and Dona Juana Ele-mentary School.

RC Holy Spirit launches innovative portable, virtual website The Rotary Club of Holy Spirit is rolling out with this issue of The Dove , the clubs virtual website.

Page 4 of this e-bulletin constitutes the gateway, or portalpage, of the website.

The portal page of our virtual website is being designed tolook like and to perform the functions of the traditional web-site such as those of the Rotary Club of Chicago , Rotary Clubof Makati, SM Foundation , and Alagad Party List organiza-tion, for examples.

Although it performs the basic functions of a traditional web-site, we describe ours as virtual because

RCHS does not have its own servers nor use web-hosting ser-vice. Instead, we store the clubs data resources in variouslocations in the cloud for ready access. It does not yet have the usual http//www. address (or URL) of a traditional website.

We are re-inventing the traditional website practice in Rotarywhere a website "carries" issues of the club bulletin. In ourmodel, The Dove which we email to about 600 addresseeswith undetermined number of forwards per issue, carriesthe portal to the website as a page of the e-bulletin.

The virtual website is easier to maintain. It does not requirethe specialized skills of a web-designer or webmaster.

Except for RC Cubao West , we have not visited website of aclub in the District which is kept up-to-date. This could bebecause of the daunting difficulty and expense of maintain-ing a website, and the availability of social networks likeFacebook and Multiply as alternatives to a website.
