LEGACY FOUNDATION FOR BAYVIEW HUNTERS POINT
RELEASES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR OPERATION

to Enter the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Workforce
Development Pipeline
San Francisco, CA— The Legacy Foundation for Bayview Hunters Point has just
released a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to solicit operating plans for a brand new
Hacker Hub in the Bayview Hunters Point (“BVHP”) neighborhood.
The Hacker Hub will be a computer technology tutoring center focused on providing the
tools needed to enter into the STEM workforce; it will create opportunities and potential
careers in computer coding and other technology fields. The continuation of STEM
education at all levels of schooling seeks to ensure students who enter the Hacker Hub at
an early age will benefit from the program into adulthood.
The Hacker Hub is projected to provide students with educational programs spanning
math enrichment, coding, digital music and video game design. It will require site-based
technological equipment to support all educational services.
The Legacy Foundation for Bayview Hunters Point was established as part of the
Bayview Hunters Point Shipyard Redevelopment Project to strengthen Bayview Hunters
Point’s human development capacity as the neighborhood’s physical environment
undergoes transformation.
Proposals and all required attachments must be received no later than 4:00 PM Pacific
Time on January 31, 2018. Any proposals or unsolicited amendments to proposals
received after the due date and time will not be considered in the review process.
Electronic responses will be accepted if received by the due date and time. The proposal
is available at http://sfocii.org/rfp.
