Hopefully, you enjoyed them as well. The Marin Masters Art Show was a resounding success. We made a profit and as a community gathering, it was wonderful. Thank you again to everyone who supported the Art Show. See the article below for a list of volunteers who helped with the event. Our other “open to the public” events were well attended and received. We’re reaching more people in the community through our social media posts. We’re developing a list of people who want to be notified of future OAC programs and the list continues to grow. The Worth New York Trunk Show attracted a steady stream of shoppers (i.e.fashionistas) throughout the afternoon of February 24. Sales were modest but 10% of the sales proceeds were donated to the OAC. The Home Day Luncheon, Guest Tea and Literary Section programs featured speakers David and Jacqueline Sue Johnson, Noah Griffin, Charlotte Torgovitsky and Katy Butler. All topics differed but all left us with interesting, useful and thought provoking information. Katy Butler’s presentation was particularly poignant as she spoke and read from her book, evoking emotional responses from the audience. Consult your Membership Handbook for the March programs. The “Stepping Out” with Cultural Arts private docent led tour of the Oscar de la Renta exhibit was sold out. But due to an amazing show of interest, Connie Goldsmith arranged for another docent to lead a second group on Tuesday, March 22, at 9:10 a.m. at the de Young Museum. Reservations close on March 2. So act now and reserve. “Bears in the Wild West!” Bring all the little ones in your life to our Annual Teddy Bear Tea on Wednesday, March 16, at 3 p.m. It’s great fun for kids of all ages and is always sold out. Reserve now! The deadline for reservation is March 8 th . Please note. The Blood drive will be held on Wednesday, March 23 and not the date shown in the Handbook. The drive is open to all OAC members and to the public. November’s drive was wildly successful. More people showed up to donate than ever before and more than we were set up to handle. We look forward to the same response this drive. Please tell a friend and bring a friend. The public is again invited to join us for a Civics and Conservation program on Thursday, March 3rd. David Escobar will demystify the immigrant experience by discussing the changing Latino immigrant population in Marin, their unique challenges and why they emigrate. The March 10 th Home Day Luncheon will feature a speaker from the Center for Domestic Peace. Matt Leffert, from the One Mt Tam Initiative, will speak at the March 24 th Guest Tea. continued on page 3
