President’sMessage: IlovedourFebruaryeventsandprograms.Hopefully,youenjoyedthemaswell.TheMarinMastersArtShowwasaresoundingsuccess.Wemadeaprofitandasacommunitygathering,itwaswonderful.ThankyouagaintoeveryonewhosupportedtheArtShow.Seethearticlebelowforalistofvolunteerswhohelpedwiththeevent. Ourother“opentothepublic”eventswerewellattendedandreceived.We’rereachingmorepeopleinthecommunitythroughoursocialmediaposts.We’redevelopingalistofpeoplewhowanttobenotifiedoffutureOACprogramsandthelistcontinuestogrow.TheWorthNewYorkTrunkShowattractedasteadystreamofshoppers(i.e.fashionistas)throughouttheafternoonofFebruary24.Salesweremodestbut10%ofthesalesproceedsweredonatedtotheOAC.TheHomeDayLuncheon,GuestTeaandLiterarySectionprogramsfeaturedspeakersDavidandJacquelineSueJohnson,NoahGriffin,CharlotteTorgovitskyandKatyButler.Alltopicsdifferedbutallleftuswithinteresting,usefulandthoughtprovokinginformation.KatyButler’spresentationwasparticularlypoignantasshespokeandreadfromherbook,evokingemotionalresponsesfromtheaudience.
