FASADA I ENTERIJER STAMBENOG OBJEKTA DESIGN OF PENTHOUSE STRUCTUREKragujevac, 2014/ 15.co-author with Goran Nikolić.dia

Project of penthouse structure in Kragujevac shows a designer strenght of contemporary adaptation. Power-full kubic condominium block, which overlays the street front, is deconstructed on penthouse floor and at its cor-ner. It makes the whole object more dynamic and expres-sive. Following the project program, we added a 25 new apartements and 6 exclusive duplexes with roof terases and a parc view.

CONCEPT DESIGN OFFICE BUILDINGMoscow, Russia 2014co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

This office building in the central Moscow’s area Tagans-kaya . Taganskaya area is located on the east of the Gar-den Ring and extends beyond it. In old Moscow the area was surrounded by five monasteries, which served the role of protecting Moscow’s eastern border. In the 19th century, this area became one of the main merchant cen-ters of Moscow. Today, there are many business centers in the area and due to its central location the Tagans-kaya area is developing quickly like the rest of the city. Therefore, our design solution represents the new, busy, rushed face of that area. Because of the noise the most of the office areas are oriented to the inner garden, and the face of the building is protected with a massive stone wall. The wall also emphasizes the horizontal and vertical historical regulation. Behind the stone envelope the in-ner fragile glass is presented.

RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR Internacionalnih brigada Street, Belgrade, 2014co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Residential two-stores apartment of about 300 sq me-ters is located in one of the most representative area in Belgrade. It is placed in the historical building built in 1920’s . In the period between First and Second world war it belonged to Serbian Prime-minister Cvetkovic. The structure of the apartment has a lot of beautiful ele-ments- ceiling is 370cm high, a first concrete construc-tion semi- prefabricated which consists of a lot of 8cm wide and 20cm high girders. The decision to consistently follow the historical discours was made together with the apartment owners. The contents are also archaic and unusual for the modern living in the central area: wine cellar , cabinet for audiences, separate entrance from the rest of the building. So, this apartment continued it’s life at the atmosphere of a masters residence.

RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR Kneza Milosa Street, Belgrade, 2014co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Interior of the apartment which is placed in the old village center is signed with a memory of a poet and a Nobel prized writer that lived in that building for a few years. The poetry that is about love, spring, always enthusias-tic even when the subject is hard - pervades this interior with beautifull colours of spring mixed in nature. Color of a lily, yellow, purple, green, violet, make this interior warm and welcoming with its art deco atmosphere. Form of the elements in this apartment is soft as the ele-ments of the nature.

CONCEPT DOUBLE TREE by HiltonOmsk, Russia 2014co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Three concepts of the facade of hotel Double Tree by Hil-ton are presented. First one is organic, it groves out of the nature. The glass envelope of the corner element is symbolic. It shows the three and the roots which is the name of the hotel. To emphasize the corner element the context blocks with rooms and the apartments are in strict order, with the indication of Hilton’s traditional white verticals. The second solution is also marked with a vertical ele-ments but with the different solution of a central ele-ment. It is in the form of portal restored with a glass. Third solution gives homage to a Russian constructivism, with a strong horizontals and a block structure. It is re-modeled by giving the horizontals the dynamic element in plane.

ZEMUN VILLA Zemun, Belgrade, 2013

Zemun is the historical village near the Belgrade. Except for its history it has a interesting geographical position. Its placed on the river Danube, so this beautiful location for a house has an inspiring view. It also had a existing object on the location, which was made in late 1940’s. There is a whole block of similar houses in sequence so it has a ambient value. One concept was to integrate an old building into a new structure. The depth of a loca-tion was a constraining factor because the for of the new structure had to be linear. The other solution was to keep and reconstruct an old house and to build a new one near the river. In the both concepts the major task was that the most of the living areas have a view on the river Danube.

MOSCOW COTTAGE INTERIORMoscow, Russia 2013co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

This small villa near Moscow is placed in the context of 250 similar villas. We had to personalize the interior, to make it a home even in the more emphasized manner because of its uniform surroundings. The project task was to use a lot of Italian and French vintage elements. It needed to be rustic. It was made to be like cottage - open space on the ground floor and kitchen with central island, for family to gather when preparing the meals. The children’s rooms have a theme- one is inspired by streets of London, and the other-one is inspired by dif-ferent sports.

RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR10 Timocka Street Belgrade, 2013

Project assignment was to make a sophisticated and carefully designed home filled with eclectic and retro 1930’s references. Living room, mostly in white tones, has an eclectic library, there are references and vintage elements in every piece of furniture, coverings and light-ening. The children’s rooms have a theme- one is inspired by football, and the other-one is inspired by world travel-ings.

RESIDENTIAL INTERIORStrumicka Street Belgrade, 2013

Design of this loft apartment was inspired by industrial structures. It should tell the story about the strong char-acter of a owner and also of his sophisticated choices. Roughness of concrete ceiling was softened with fine leather furniture. Fireplace is covered with a compact Funder Max HPL which simulates rusted metal. The ma-terials that dominate are concrete, wood and metal, and vintage leather on furniture.

RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR Strumicka Street Belgrade, 2013

Project assignment was to make a home, lively, colorful, warm yet carefully designed and referenced home. The decision to use a different concepts in each space was made because they have two living rooms so they had to be different. So, filled with eclectic and retro 1950’s refer-ences, this two-store penthouse is like walk through inte-rior design periodicals. Living room on the lower floor is neo- eclectic, there are references and vintage elements in every piece of furniture and coverings. Teenage daugh-ter’s room scream retro 80’s, since the living room on the top level is in 50’s design language. Big roof garden, de-cor of this apartment, speaks timeless language of nature and it’s colors.

RECONSTRUCTION OF BUILDING FACADE AMSO 18 Ruzveltova street, Belgrade, 2012co-author with arch. Goran Nikolić

The project for renovation of building facades AMS Insur-ance shows a number of different engineering practices, especially in the treatment of corner, an important el-ement of visual communication with the surroundings. One of the ways that relies on more modern aspirations angle is emphasized with irregular shapes generated from the compact panel triangles of different sizes. Through gaps light passes at night. Other elements of the facade stand in peaceful order of rectangular grid, while the canopy over the entrance is dominating the geometry. In the following procedure, which produces the second variant, the principle of angle treatment is transferred to the entire facade, which is distinctly white. The third option uses the architectural expression of the postmod-ernism, with its recognizable neoclassical elements, such as a stone pillar at the corner, striking dimensions, in the encounter with the modern facade of the block shaped compact panel screens. Different principles of recon-struction of the facade AMSO shown that it is possible to communicate expressively in time and spatial context using a variety of architectural language and elements of that language.

neo-medieval town KRALJEVGRAD Near Kraljevo and medievial city Maglič, 2012co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Located on a hill opposite the medieval town Maglič, from which it is separated by the Ibar river valley, except the visual and environmental determinants has a strong obligation to respect and understand larger, even sym-bolic plane in which we communicate with the objects of the past, and which goes beyond simple visual im-pact. Therefore, it is a complex project that in its basic setting lies confrontation of the past, present and future. The project was built with strong referencies to the past, but by applying the latest technological advances in con-struction climbs to the future. A base plan is transcripted map of abstracted geometry of the city Maglic, which is then deconstructed, but still remains enrolled in the ba-sic code of Kraljevgrad.

HOKEY HALLGorki 10, Moscow, Russia, 2011co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Forest and a river which are located in the region became an element of architectural conception and generation of architectural form. Following ambiences for relaxation, entertainment and recreation, with clear large openings, are visually orientated to the massive green forest that is framed, while the object with hall-abstracted geometry of the frozen forest (oriented to the north, with the exist-ing meadow with trees behind) has a massive role in the construction of the existing line of natural panorama. Symbolic connection with the river, which is near, is es-tablished by introducing great water pool in the orches-tra of the building in which the whole structure reflects. Water permeates the jagged structure. It becomes an el-ement of balance between vertical forests and meadows emphasized horizontality and cantilevered terraces were placed at a height of 1m above it. The water surface in the winter becomes a panoramic slide.

SPORTS ARENA Tihookeansky University, Habarovsk, Russia, 2011co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

The building is part of Tihookeansky University. It is a sports arena next to the existing campus. The area in which the sports center is prescribed is very spacious, approximately 300x300m, which was used for the forma-tion of jagged structure of the principle of landscaping design. Location has no geomorphologic constraints and the existing levee is integrated into object and becomes an important building block. Form object emphasis the connection with the nature which is achieved by careful planning of the orchestra, as well as setting up a series of atriums that allow open and inner space integration. Distinct partner and atriums build a visual character of structure, both the interior and exterior, but also raise the level of comfort, because they allow natural ventila-tion and lighting in all resort areas, and even in services and service areas.

SPORTS ARENA KOLONIJA 11421Sindjeliceva street, Smederevska Palanka, 2010-12co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Sports center in Smederevska Palanka is based on mod-ern architectural principles and the application of mod-ern materials. According to the geometry it is a dynamic structure, with great varieties of form, height and mate-rials to emphasize the internal functions. The inner life of the facility builds his outward appearance- is basic authors position in the design of this building-structure. In the context of the primarily sports facility, the interior -seats with their elongated form, scattered glass surfac-es and the position of diverse ambiance, generates the views from two indoor sports hall, with the external field and the diverse environments of open gardens. The re-sult is a space consistently and comprehensively reflect-ed, while building a total design of a facility. The contrast-ing elements-concrete ceilings and free installation and designer lighting bodies, rugged wooden construction of halls and soft deep seating, emphasize the character of the original materials and their functions.

FOOTBALL ACADEMY DINAMO MOSCOW Lenjingradska street, Moscow, Russia, 2011co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Special attention was paid to a deeper analysis of the terms of reference in grouping related functionsat spe-cific levels (in order to create fluid, clear and more natu-ral spatial-functional concept), by creating landscape designs that is appropriate for the location. Therefore, it becomes the essential architectural concept. Existing zoning restrictions, strict segregation of the built and in-built zone, are used as an element of architectural con-ception and generation of architectural form. Position within the context of low urban density, and proximity to the river, are strong natural element supporting the cho-sen approach. Abstracted geometry of a diverse natural terrain- high places and bays have multiple roles, in ad-dition to becoming a fully dynamic element of the planar field, they also become an element of utility-stands and ramps materialized with natural elements- wood, small stones and earth or grass. Natural elements are used in the function of a priori constructed and they are taking organogenic shape, while the row of trees and water, as the elements of the natural environment, are positioned in engineering geometry proper rhythm, which is not pe-culiar to the nature and creates an impression of spatial inversion of the basic elements and makes the overall im-age more dynamic.

CONDOMINIUMS Kaljingradsky district m.29v, Moscow, Russia, 2012co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

In the project of a residential complex in the city of Chelabinjsk authors research simple, mass housing for the Group of 70 000 housing units. The project draws on the modern roots of prefabricated and semi-prefabri-cated types of objects, with strong horizontals and free windows strip (Corbusier). The basic type is then varied through five types and three groups of objects, which re-tain the basic character, but have different prominent elements of dynamic- raised central concrete canvases, complex rotating or simple rotation of the objects axis. This makes the quality of diversity, individuality and au-thenticity, and pluralism also, to a lesser extent on the level of a single object, but certainly at the level of the group.

CLUB INK 88 Commercial center UNIQULO, Beijing, China, 2011co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

The interior of lounge Ink 88 refers to the wide world of art- fashion, architecture, films... Inspired by free spirit that knows no constraints- it is postmodern by the remi-niscence on avant-garde of 1920’s and progressive by the usage of materials and cutting edge technologies. So, it offers a mélange- of styles, cultural characteristic, mate-rials, but the one that could indulge the most demanding needs. The base is a floor theme, collage dedicated to avant-garde: scenes from the movie The Blade Runner, pictures of Andy Warhol, constructivist architecture, the utopia of some future that is never to come. The collage is grayscale, so it creates a strong but neutral stage for other actions to take place. The floor is written by the lines that create a net- a deconstructed pattern of Uniq-lo’s orthogonal facade. That net is a creative force that generates other contextual directions- the setting, the ceiling, gallery shape, and brings an element of dynamic by creating a space full of surprises. Dramatic lightening that brake through the ceiling increases the ambiance effect of deconstructed shapes.

PENTHOUSE 1-3 Svetoandrejska street, Belgrade, 2009-12co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Penthouse design relies on existing concept of massive objects body, and by retracting the penthouse floor, ends tripartite division of the facade, hinted with basis stone. The penthouse floor represents a residential area with highest level of exclusivity- big glass walls, roof gardens with spa elements, also a voluminous inner spaces. Roof construction, made of laminated wood, is visually trans-ferring wooden structure from the body of an object to the roof. Added eaves above the entrance support the linear character of wooden decor in the base and at the roof.

FACADE AND INTERIOR OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING25 Mažuraniceva street, Belgrade, 2011

Facade project of the building in Mazuraniceva street re-flects the intention to make solid front, the volume of the primary geometry, formally complex and enriched, by the way of using ventilated facades secondary sub-structure. Therefore, the emphasis is on the plasticity due to the material properties- spatial relief obtained by compact panels FunderMax, in the evening is enhanced by LED lighting throughout the stack. The massive cube of corbel is further emphasized by natural stone-traver-tine, the application of which gives a picture of the dual-ity- cantiliver element that is lined with massive material. Horizontality of the stone is confronted to the verticality of compact panel. And in this duality of perception lies architectural expressiveness and dynamic.

RESIDENTIAL BUILDING 17 Cara Nikolaja street, Belgrade, 2008-11co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

According to the basic form, residential building in 17 Cara Nikolaja II street has a archetypal character of a HOUSE with a sloping roof, which carries the spirit of the Vracar (an older, residential part of the Belgrade). The facade, however, expresses a different discourse. Gently pulling the facade plane created a space for dynamic ma-terialization. Brick, stone, compact panel, colored glass, window treatment and masks for air cooling systems, refer to the Dutch built-in objects, which-although the same height and flat plane, without enough space for the dynamics forms-build interesting environments due to the richness of materialization of the facade.

VACATION HOUSE 6B VI cibukovacke cete street, Kraljevo, 2008-09co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

The external appearance of a weekend house in Kraljevo is infused with poetic context to which it belongs. There-fore, the jagged form is generated from two cubes that interconnect. The result is a high developed area of the facade, open to the landscape. Function follows specific form so the night zone is located in the cube material-ized with local natural stone, while the other cube placed transversely-day zone is characterized by a number of glass surfaces. The roof has been solved as archetypal traditional hip roof ,which is permeated by the eaves of robust wood the entire length of the building, following the transverse cube. The contents of the interior, while respecting the principles of traditional houses building, generates central fireplace, set in the intersection line of two basic cubes -day and night zones. Architectural expression of the interior, the use of color and material of the final coating is based on the contemporary dis-course.

RECONSTRUCTION OF HOTEL STATUS river bank of Ibar, Kraljevo, 2008co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Reconstruction and renovation of Status hotel is based on knowledge of the non-material context that existed for five decades and identifying all physical, environmen-tal and natural parameters that define the location of existing buildings and their activation through function and space of the object. Strong context, the river Ibar, the presence of recreational facilities, caused the posi-tioning of highly public office / bar, restaurant / to them. Service facilities are facing the parking lot, at the west side. Designed as a facility for servicing swimmers, this building has undergone two modifications, the first to a restaurant, and then the business function was added. As the context has changed, so the conditions of life of this facility have changed. Its restaurants feature continues to live, now modified and more open to the river. Floor, due to the need for such facilities in the city, gets the function of the hotel, which announces its category exclusivity by an interesting mix of wooden design panes and traver-tine stone on the facade and give a new image of micro location. As a conclusion it is necessary to address to the multifaceted nature of this object, which communicates with a large number of different users, with respect for its rich history, and context-proximity of the river and downtown.

RESIDENTIAL INTERIORS DESIGN M.Marinkovica street , Vozdovac, Belgrade,2008-09co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Design for apartments in the residential part of Belgrade is characterized by the duality of modern and classical ideas, resulting pluralism of architectural expression and form. Various layers, whose important component is rep-resentation of cultural identity of the past is displayed in the face of various forms and material characteristics: of glass-smooth surface tables with the rugged stone fireplace, classic and simple shape and soft and sharp lines of ceiling and lighting. However, the area is char-acterized by interpretative unity and consistency of ex-pression, which includes all of the internal complexity of the starting points. The interior becomes the stage for a conflict of classic and modern to resolve by their spatial dialogue.

SHOPPOHOLIC CAFE Shopping mall “USCE”, New Belgrade, 2007co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Free use of shapes, colors and materials in the project for interior of Shoppoholic cafe is a part of the visual lan-guage of pop art in the 1960s. Understanding the interi-ors which are based its principles and ideas lies beyond the scope of artistic expression. Space of the mall’s, for whom the interior is designed is adequate frame-work through which we can observe another significant layer of pop-art poetry. The challenges of mass culture, abundance of products, but also the loss of identity and authenticity (streets) were varied in theme of exclusive interior through multiplication of designed pieces of furniture and lighting, flooring and wall treatment, floor lamps in the form of umbrellas in the space of the inte-rior street. The result has a visual character of a three-di-mensional comic, in which products / goods, not people, play a major role...

CONFERENCE HALL OF “HYPO ALPE ADRIA” BANK Business Center “USCE”, New Belgrade 2006(exibited at the 28-th Salon of Architecture in Belgrade in 2006)co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Conference Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank in Bussines Center USCE shows intent of the authors to make an office and a representative space exceeds the limits of type. Trans-formative conference table can meet different require-ments using a three-position which correspond to the same number of types of meetings that are held there. Dynamism, modernity and mobility in the expression / variability in accordance with the circumstances are the key words for a project of this interior, as well as for mod-ern concepts of business.

RESIDENTIAL BUILDING 118 Jove Ilic street, Vozdovac, Belgrade, 2005co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Apartment buildings in the Jove Ilica street, located in a quiet, residential part of Vozdovac, which is characterized by the construction of buildings almost uniform fronts and height of two floors and an attic. Designing object in this context allows the dynamism of form to make a step forward in relation to the built environment, but also to enrich and contribute to the visual identity of street front. The dynamism of form is achieved by volumes of primary geometries that intersect in different angles. A procedure that generates a form is applied consistently and at the interior, therefore, the interior of each hous-ing unit becomes authentic, unexpected and interesting. Separation of mass that generate the form is noted by color and structure of the used materials: stone, wood or paint.

PENTHOUSE INTERIOR V. Rolovica street, Banovo Brdo, Belgrade, 2005co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

In the penthouse at Banovo Brdo (a part of Belgrade), with highlighted orthogonality and forms that can be en-tered in the square, a new grid at an angle of 45 degrees was installed, which initiated the dynamism of internal spaces and elements that build it. Also, set in the blocks, three reference points are function generators in a free open-space. Fireplace, that follows new raster lines, is central living area, of a deep seating area, a work area and glazed terraces. Installation block with toilets and wardrobe, is the other reference point around which the elongated kitchen and dining room are positioned. Ward-robe block is the center of the night zones. The result is a dynamic and changing area in which the function of the ambient and functions permeate, with the possibility of their separation with easy, flowing, glass screens.

DUAL VILLA Lisiciji potok, Dedinje, Belgrade, 2014co-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Designed as a house for two families split verticaly by two centrally mounted concrete walls within which a common staircase is positioned, the only common area. Differences in methods of forming the left and right sides were created at the request of the investor, and the left side is designed freely, forms that intersect in sharp an-gles, while the left side was resolved in primary forms and right angles.Place confront the roof where two dis-similar masses intersect and merge. The interior design grew from the basic conception, because the space, its volumetry, construction, and externally applied materials interact in a way that blurres boundaries and relation-ships are intentionaly stressed.

Page 32: Portfolio Jelena Krstovic Nikolic

INTERIOR OF DUAL VILLALisiciji potok, Dedinje, Beogradco-author with arch.Goran Nikolić

Architecture and interior have been designed on the same principles. Volumes whose different spatial relation-ships create objects form certain materials are assigned, the materials which retain their own characteristics and outside and inside the building. They become materials whose deepening, cuts, crossing in the space create com-position, and also the space materializes. There are three basic materials- compact panels (wood decor), stone and basic white colour. All the applied principles are aimed to feel unbreacable bound between architecture and inte-rior design, exterior and inner space, because the space they share is the same and thus stronger and more hon-est is their relationships.
