Roots of Ultimate Joel Silver was introduced to “Frisbee football”

at Mount Herman School in Massachusetts

1st Edition rules created in 1968 by Joel Silver, Johnathan Hines and Bernard Hellring

The first college game was played between Princeton and Rutgers in 1972.

The offense receives the disc (pull) from the defense to start the point

Completed pass in the end zone scores 1 point

Passes must be completed within 10 seconds

You may not run with the disc

The defense pulls the disc to the offense to start the point

A person guarding the thrower (marker) puts on a stall count of 10 seconds

If a pass is not completed possession of defense to offense changes immediately

Players make all of the calls (fouls, stall counts, delays, travels) and resolves any disagreements (know the rules)

Fouls are called when contact is made, if you disagree with a call you can say “Contest”

Level 1- The players must respect themselves, their opponents and the rules of the game

Level 2- This is a TEAM sport Level 3- Know the rules, be a responsible

compassionate team mate is important Level 5- Respect all, be responsible for

yourself and show compassion for others
