Officer Duran and I were off the right side of the roadway on I75 South finishing up a traffic crash investigation

(12-8971). Officer Duran and I heard something bouncing off the roadway next to us. When we looked over we

observed a large piece of wood (4x4, approximately 10 feet long) sliding in the right lane of travel. I went to my vehicle

and initiated a traffic stop on a semi-truck pulling a flat bed trailer, while Officer Duran removed the wood from the

roadway. The flat bed had straps hanging from it where apparently the piece of wood came from. I identified the driver

as Rex Malone. Malone stated a vehicle changed lanes in front of him forcing Malone to hit his breaks. Malone stated

a strap broke on his trailer, causing the wood to break free. Malone was issued a citation for Unsecure Loads.

Photographs were taken of the wood and the area of the trailer it fell from.

Upon arrival, at least two dogs were heard parking continuously for approximately five minutes. I

attempted contact at the residence, but there was no response, despite a side door standing ajar. The

barking stopped while I attempted to make contact with the resident. I left a voicemail message on a

cellphone listed for the homeowner, Dale Seminew, requesting a callback. Approximately ten minutes

later, Seminew called and advised he had been in Columbus, Ohio overnight and was headed back. He

added that the dogs have access to food and water inside the home with a "doggy door" serving as

access.

Morse swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision and then struck the left front of McEwen's vehicle with the

given a court date of Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 5:00pm. McEwen's vehicle was towed by the next available towing

A black 1993 Honda two door car traveling north on N Dixie Hwy directly in front of me displayed a expired

registration of October 2010. A check of OH #DGS3291 showed the registration expired October 10, 2011. A traffic

stop was initiated and the driver pulled into Huntington Bank on N Dixie Hwy. The passenger in the Honda, Darren

Reeg, stated he owned the vehicle and that he had just purchased the vehicle in Pemberville, Ohio this afternoon.

Reeg could not provide a bill of sale, title or registration for the vehicle. He also stated he never obtained insurance for

the vehicle. Reeg's operator license was under suspension so he had his friend, Jeremy Hogan, drive the vehicle.

Hogan provided a valid license. Hogan was issued a citation for Expired Registration 4503. 11 ORC (M4) and given

a court date of June 12, 2012 at 8:45 AM. The Honda was inventoried and towed by VJ' s Towing. Reeg was

Weiss reported a litter of kittens were fending for themselves in the backyard of the vacant house east

of his property. The house at 13560 Roachton Road is currently for sale, and that the half-dozen kittens

had sought refuge under the home's back deck after the kitten's mother, reportedly had been killed by a car

several days ago. Weiss agreed to provide food and water for the kittens until ACO Jeff Studer could

arrange to trap them.
