#18 June 10, 2016Courtyard Concert

f you missed the Maple Hall concert on Tuesday, you

have the opportunity to hear excerpts on Friday June

17 at 16:00. The high school ensembles of strings and

winds and the high school choir will be performing live,

and the concert will feature the best songs from the

Maple Hall concert. All parents and students are

nvited to attend and the concert takes place in the

courtyard.

OIS PTA Farewell PartyOn Thursday June 23 the fun will begin at 15:30 in

he courtyard. There will be free hotdogs and drinks for

all students K-12 and music. The PTA will be

recognizing the departing students and teachers.

Following the ceremony, How To Train Your Dragon 2

will be screened in the theatre from 17:00 - 19:00. The

school would also like to thank the PTA members who

worked on displaying the artwork in the school for theexhibition.

Chicken Pox Cases ReportedSeveral Senri International School middle school

students contracted chicken pox this week.

Vaccination in Japan is now required but not in the

recent past. Please be aware of this in case your child

has suspicious spots. For more information, please

refer to the Center of Disease Controls website. (link

here)

Vocal Summer ConcertsSOIS students taking private vocal lessons at the

school will be holding a concert on Tuesday June 21

n the theatre from 16:00 - 17:00. OIS class of 2016

graduate Sara Willenkin will be performing immediately

after from 17:00 - 17:30. All OIS parents and students

are invited to attend. The students are led by private

music instructor Jadwiga Sakakibara and will be

accompanied on piano by Keiko Sakakibara.
