    Access and parking wit hin the campu s are import ant securi ty and safet y issues. For the wel l -being of al l memb ers of t he

    ISM community, those entering the school campus are requested to fol low the procedures out l ined below.

    Vehicular Access

    During drop-of f and pick-up t imes, vehicles may ent er thr ough Gates 2 and 3. Those enter ing through Gat e 2 should pro-ceed to t he drop off area and, once the stud ent has al ighted or boarded , t hey should exi t via Gate 1. Those vehiclesenter ing through Gate 3 must t urn into t he covered parking area and use the designated drop-of f areas. Al l vehiclesmust exi t t hrough Gate 1.

    Al ternat ively, vehicles enter ing through Gate 3 may park in the covered car park. The spaces reserved for parent-dr ivencars should only be used by those vehicles which are driven by parent s th emselves. Vehicles in which paren ts are travel-ing, but w hich are driven by a dr iver, should not use these spaces. Rather , t hey should park elsewhere in the coveredpark or make use of t he outs ide spaces next t o the pow er center .

    Please not e t hat Gate 2 m ay only be used by m ember s of t he ISM communit y in possession of a val id ISM ID and vehicles

    displaying a valid ISM vehicle sticker.

    Family/ company drivers should not rem ain wit hin school once they have del ivered a st udent . They should exi t t he schooland return no sooner than 1:45 in t he af ternoon for p ick up.

    Visi t ors to ISM may only ent er t hrough Gate 3 . There is an area for short stay visi tor s parking near Gate 1.

    The Pedestr ian Gate

    Locat ion

    The pedestr ian gate is located in the perim et er fence mid -way bet ween Gate 1 and Gate 2. There is a paved area be-tw een the road and t he per imeter fence, a l lowing easy access to t he gate.

    The pedest r ian gate is solely for t he entr y of memb ers of t he ISM Communi ty at t he beginning of t he school day. I t wi l lonly be open betw een 7:00 and 7:45 (8:00 to 8:45 on Wednesdays). Due to parki ng rest r ict ions and in the int erests ofsecur i ty i t w i l l not be open in the af t ernoon for p ick ups. Dur ing the t ime i t i s open, i t w i l l be under the supervision ofmem bers of the ISM Guard Force.

    Drop-off Procedure

    Drivers should stop adj acent t o the paved area and stu dent s should al ight fr om the r ight side of their vehicle. The drivershould th en move off , clearing the space for other vehicles dropping off student s. Under no circumstances should a stu-dent be dr opped of f f rom t he outs ide lane. This is dangerous as the student would need t o walk across the f ront of an-other vehic le.

    Drivers are rem inded th at t raf f ic regulat ions forbid parking on the roads around ISM. Therefor e, vehicles should only bestopping for the br ief t ine i t takes for a student to al ight . Dr ivers must not wai t f or anybody to ret urn to t he vehicle.

    Car Stickers

    The car st i ckers for t he school year 2012/ 13 are avai lable from t he securi t y off ice.

    Each ISM fam ily wi l l be issued one vehicle st icker f ree of charge. Any addit ional st ickers wi l l be issued fol lowing pay-ment of Php100.00 to t he cashier s of f ice.

    In order to f aci l i tate t he easy recogni t ion of author ized cars at t he gates, t he st ickers should be af f ixed t o the t op r ightcorner of t he wind shield. Further t o this, old ISM st i ckers issued in previous years should be rem oved.

    ID Cards

    ID cards should be wor n at al l t imes whi le on campus. I f you have not been issued an ID card, or you have lost i t , youshould obtain one by v is i t ing the secur i ty of f ice and complet ing the appropr iate appl icat ion f orm.

    Vehicle checks

    The pract ice of inspect ing vehicles wi l l cont inue. During off-p eak hours al l vehicles wi l l be checked befor e they are al-lowed t o enter t he campus. During peak hours (drop off and pick-up t imes), al l vehicles wit hout val id st i ckers and ran-domly selected vehicles with st ickers wi l l be asked to undergo an examinat ion.

    Whether an examinat ion is conducted or not , i t i s impor tant that the secur i ty staf f at the gates are able to ident i fy theoccupants of vehicles ent ering the campus; ther efore IDs must be clearly displayed. Vehicles wit h t int ed window s mustrol l down windows to al low a c lear v iew of t he inter ior of the vehic le.

    Drivers, Helpers and Bodyguards

    Drivers, helpers and bodyguards should not be wait ing on campus for stu dent s thr oughout th e school day. After d roppingoff student s th ey should exi t t he school grounds and not ret urn more t han 30 minut es befor e dismissal t im e. Those whorepeatedly fa i l to comply wi t h t he regulat ion wi l l have thei r access pr iv i lege suspended.

    Only t hose vehic les carry ing parents or other people wi t h business wi th in t he school wi l l be al lowed t o ret urn t o t he cam-pus before 1:45 p.m .

    There are designated areas for unaccompanied drivers, yayas, helpers and securi ty escorts to wait for parents and stu-dents. Unless speci f ical ly author ized, t hey may not enter any ot her area. In t he interest of secur i ty , and to prevent con-gest ion at the pedest r ian ent rances to the covered park ing area, parents are requested to emphasize to t hei r employeesthe im por tance of cooperat ing wi t h t he secur i ty staf f and rem aining in the appropr iate areas.

    Terminat ion of Employment

    In the event of the t erminat ion of serv ice of a fami ly employee, parents are asked to secure the f ormer employee s ISMID card and return i t to t he Secur i ty of f ice. I f th is is not possible, i t i s impor tant tat the Secur i ty Of f ice is st i l l informedof t he change of circumstances.

    Final ly, I would l i ke to t hank al l mem bers of the ISM communit y for t heir cooperat ion in helping us maintain ISM as a safeand secure envi ronment f or our chi ldren.

    Firearms

    Al l members of t he ISM communi t y are reminded t hat i t i s st r ic t ly forbidden for f i rearms to be brought onto t he campus.This includes concealed weapons carr ied by bodyguards for close protect ion. Any person arr iving at the school with af i rearm should inform the gate guard and arrangements wi l l be made for the weapon to be safely and securely storedduring the visi tor s stay.

    Secur i ty staf f d i rect ions

    Our securi ty team is endeavoring to make the school as safe and secure an environment as possible for al l members ofour communi t y. We as that everybody cooperate wi t h us in th is impor t ant task. In par t icular , a l l those enter ing our

    campus are requested t o comply wi th any di rect ion given to them by mem bers of our guard force. In the event that any-one is unclear as to t he purpose of such instruct ions they can seek clar i f i cat ions from t he securi t y off ice. Please notethat i t i s the parents r esponsibi l i ty to advise t hei r s taf f accordingly.

    IASAS Tenni s mat ches st art on Thursday, Janu ary 31. Theschedule is very busy wit h 204 matches to be played overthe 3 days. To help you understand the schedule a matchconsist s of 3 single s games S1, S2, S3 and 2 doub les gamesD1 and D2.There is also an 8 t h or al ternate player for eachteam w ho play matches as a par t of the t ournament . Theal ternate player can be used in case of in jury/ i l lness insingles or doubles i f needed. To win the match you needto w in 3 out of the 5 games. I t i s a round robin formatwi t h al l t eams playing each other by Saturday lunch t imeand then Satur day aft ernoon t he f inals are played basedon the round robin resul ts.

    the covered cour t w i l l be ut i l i zed for t he tournament sothere wi l l be plenty of great tennis matches to wat chduring the 3 days. For those of you that are unaware orare new to ISM both our ISM boys and girls teams are de-fending IASAS champions and our girls team is going for a3rd win in a row this year . The event wi l l be l i ve st reamedvi a www.iasas.asia and IASAS tour nament s are wond erf ulevents to host and we look forw ard to put t ing on a greatevent for the v is i t ing teams in our new faci l i ty . We hopefor great support f rom our ISM community during theevent t o cheer on our teams as they do bat t le against theIASAS schools.
