She was bom to Luther and Alma Sheilds on May 10, 1917 in Marston Missouri. "Granny" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt and a caring friend to many. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catho- lic Church in Frelsburg for many years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, C.C. Bradford, in 1992; and beloved son and grandson, Chris Bradford in 1987 and Tommy Fowler in 1998. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas (Bubba) and Marlene Bradford of Columbus; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Eiland of Schulenburg, Nancy and Russell Leyendecker of Columbus and Sue and Rondale Fowler of Lea- gue City; special daughter, Lollie Hayden and husband, Noel McGau- ghey, of Brookshire; special friend, Leslie Wensel of Frelsburg; grand- children, Donnie and Douglas Bris- coe, Rhonda Farley, Donna White- side, Stacy Leyendecker, Amy and Audra Bradford, Crystal Fowler, Nancy Marland, Tonn and Aaron Hayden and Doug and Stephen Brad- ford; nine great-grandchildren; nu- merous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg. Burial was to follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were under the di- rection of Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Scheduled pallbearers were Rhonda Farley, Donna Whiteside, Stacy Leyendecker, Amy and Audra Bradford, Crystal Fowler, Doug and Stephen Bradford, Donnie Briscoe, Tonn Hayden and Nancy Marland. Campo, passed away Thursday, July 6,2000. He was born June 30, 1923, in Hillje to Joe M. and Mary Stokr Dor- nak. Fritz was the owner of Emil's Place for 53 years and a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church, U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2490, American Legion Post No. 251 and the VFW. He was born June 23, 1911, in Ecleto, Kames County, Texas, to Fil- omeno and Cruz Perez Gonzales. A resident of this area for most of his life, Pablo worked on rice farms and in the sand and gravel quarries. He was also a member of Roman Catholic Parish of the Nativity of Eagle Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Fernandez Gonzales in 1985; son, Julian "Pepe" Gonzales Sr. and six brothers. A lifetime resident of Eagle Lake, he was a graduate of Rice High School with the class of 1973, a member of the the Roman Catholic Parish of the Nativity of Eagle Lake and employed by Rice Industries Dryer in Eagle Lake. Emelie Heine Popp Emelie Heine Popp, 95, of Nada, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2000. She was born August 22,1904, in Nada, to Paul and Mary Wanga Heine. Emelie married John Popp and was a housewife, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (Feb. 7, 1974); son, Alfred John Popp (April 19, 2000); rjrothers,-Leo and Adolph Heine; sis- ters, Mary Leopold and Annie Popp; grandson, Robert Crenek; and great- granddaughter, Lauren Crenek. Charles Banning Skeeters October 12,1920 - jui y 3,2000 Charles Banning Skeeters, 79, of Houston, was welcomed home by his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 3, 2000 following a lengthy illness. He was born October 12,1920, in Eagle Lake. The year 1938 marked his gradu- ation from Eagle Lake High School and the life-changing event of his sal- vation through Jesus Christ. His marriage to Lottie Rae Caffey of Rockdale took place on July 26, 1941. After 37 years of working for Ex- xon Oil Refinery, he retired in 1978 in order to devote his time to his family, friends and church. Recreation Acres Full Gospel Church enjoyed his faithful atten- dance for more than 50 years where he served in various positions including song leader, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Board member for 50 years and Chair- man of the Board for 27 years. He was a special friend and help to many missionaries as well. He faithfully served God in his roles as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marianne Skeeters; parents, Bryant and Eva Skeeters; and one great grandson, Adam Fleener. Pablo Gonzales Sr., 89, of Eagle Lake, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Tues- day, July 4,2000 at Memorial South- west Hospital in Houston.

He was born June 23, 1911, in Ecleto, Kames County, Texas, to Fil- omeno and Cruz Perez Gonzales.

A resident of this area for most of his life, Pablo worked on rice farms and in the sand and gravel quarries. He was also a member of Roman Catholic Parish of the Nativity of Eagle Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Fernandez Gonzales in 1985; son, Julian "Pepe" Gonzales Sr. and six brothers.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Paul Martinez of Wallis, Rosa and Manuel Ramirez of Houston, Elizabeth and Joe Fernandez of Wallis and Mary

Eagle Lake, passed away Monday, July 3,2000 at his residence.

He was born November 19,1952, in Eagle Lake, to Alfonso Davila and Rachel Contreras Mendoza.

A lifetime resident of Eagle Lake, he was a graduate of Rice High School with the class of 1973, a member of the the Roman Catholic Parish of the Nativity of Eagle Lake and employed by Rice Industries Dryer in Eagle Lake.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Edward and Gilbert Mendoza Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Rachel of Eagle Lake; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elida Torres, Eliza- beth and John Rodriguez, and Rachel and Michael Lujan of Eagle Lake;

brothers, Eugene and Ronnie Men- doza of Eagle Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.

The family assembled Wednes- day, July 5, at the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home for a vigil service pre- sided by Rev. Eddie Winkler. Carmen Nunez served as cantor.

Following cremation, funeral ser- vices were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, from the Roman Catholic Parish of the Nativity's Our Lady of Guadalupe Sanctuary, Eagle Lake with Rev. Winkler officiating.

passed away Sunday, July 9, 2000. She was born August 22,1904, in

Nada, to Paul and Mary Wanga Heine. Emelie married John Popp and

was a housewife, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (Feb. 7, 1974); son, Alfred John Popp (April 19, 2000); rjrothers,-Leo and Adolph Heine; sis- ters, Mary Leopold and Annie Popp; grandson, Robert Crenek; and great-

granddaughter, Lauren Crenek. Survivors include her daughters,

Houston, was welcomed home by his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 3, 2000 following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 12,1920, in Eagle Lake.

The year 1938 marked his gradu- ation from Eagle Lake High School and the life-changing event of his sal- vation through Jesus Christ.

His marriage to Lottie Rae Caffey of Rockdale took place on July 26, 1941.

After 37 years of working for Ex- xon Oil Refinery, he retired in 1978 in order to devote his time to his family, friends and church.

Recreation Acres Full Gospel Church enjoyed his faithful atten- dance for more than 50 years where he served in various positions including song leader, Sunday School teacher,

Sunday School Superintendent, Board member for 50 years and Chair- man of the Board for 27 years. He was a special friend and help to many missionaries as well.

He faithfully served God in his roles as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marianne Skeeters; parents, Bryant and Eva Skeeters; and one great grandson, Adam Fleener.
