Room assignments for fifth through eighth grades were given when students picked up books and schedules Monday, Aug. 2, and Tues- day, Aug. 3, in the school cafeteria.
Aug. 2:5 th grade, 9 a.m. 12 noon; 6th grade, 12 noon-4 p.m.
Aug. 3: 7th grade, 9 am. to 12 noon; 8th grade, 12 noon-4 p.m.
Orientation for 4th grade stu- dents will be held Thursday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. in the ELMS cafeteria

Eagle Lake Middle School supply lists
Listed below are the supplies needed by Eagle Lake Middle School students at the opening of the 1999-2000 school term. Additional supplies may be re- quested by a teacher as needed throughout the school year.
Fourth grade: one back pack, one zipper bag or box, 1 Rubbermaid dish- pan (11.4 quart), 5 spiral notebooks (wide-ruled), 5 packages notebook paper (wide-ruled), 10 folders with pockets and brads, 1 package 3x5 index cards
(lined), 20 pencils, 2 black pens, 2 black dry erase markers, 2 yellow highlighters, 1 box quart size freezer bags, 3 sheets of white poster board, 2 boxes facial tissues, 2 large pencil eraser, 1 plastic ruler with centi- meters and inches, map pencils, crayons, Elmer's school glue, scissors, *No other ink colors please!
Fifth grade: two boxes Kleenex, #2 pencils (regular wooden pencils only), 2 red pens, 2 yellow highlighters, scissors, small bottle white glue, five folders with brads and pockets (red, green, blue, yellow, purple), pkg. regular ruled notebook paper, three 70-sheet spirals (regular ruled), box 8 or 12 map colors, one box 8 washable markers, Zipper binder.
Markers, map colors, highlighters, scissors and glue will be taken up and used as class sets.
♦Backpacks are not allowed.
Sixth-eighth grades: one 3-ring binder with divid- ers for use in all subjects.We recommend the Mead 5- star zipper binder. Sixth-eighth grade students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to school.
Supplies: 2 boxes Kleenex, 2 blue or black pens, 2 red pens, 2-#2 pencils, 1 highlighter, 1 box 16 crayons, 1 set map colors (12 count), 1 set colored markers (10 count), 12 inch wooden ruler, protractor, 2 bottles of glue (medium), pair of school scissors-Fiskar, wide ruled notebook paper, 2 sheets of white posterboard, 4 spiral notebook for journals (5 subject), pocket folder with brads, 1 package of 5x7 white index cards, 1 package of 3x5 white index cards, 1 package of 3x5 fluorescent index cards, 1 package of 10-count manilla file folders.

Rice CISD 1999- 2000 meal prices
Breakfast and lunch prices in the Rice CISD for the 1999-2000 school term are:
Breakfast: pre-k through fifth grade, 750; sixth grade through 12th, $1; adults, $1.25; visitors, $1.50
Lunch: pre-k through fifth, $1.50; sixth through 12th, $1.75; adults, $2.25; visitors, $2.75
Reduced breakfast is 300 and reduced lunch is 400. The Rice CISD will again be participating in the
National School Lunch and Breakfast Program during the 1999-2000 school term.
The 1999-2000 Income Eligibility Guidelines are shown in a chart on the next page.
If you now get food stamps or TANF for your children, they can get free meals.
If your total household income is the same or less that the amounts on the Income Chart, your children can get free or reduced-price meals.
A foster child may get free or reduced-price meals regardless of your income.
Information will be sent home with your children on the first day of school.
To get free or reduced-price meals for your children, vou must complete an application and return it to the school.
An incomplete application cannot be processed so please read the instructions very carefully.
You may apply for meals anytime during the school (See Meals, Page 9)
