This Italian beef breed was intro- duced into the U.S. in the 1980s and to the Houston Show in 1991. However, this year this breed will be appearing with some new credentials that will excite both cattlemen and consumer.

What's new at the 1998 Livestock Show?
name "Better Beef. Another interesting aspect of this
breed of cattle is its heart healthy beef product. Ameri-Pied Beef Inc. and the American Heart Association (AHA) have entered into a contractual agree- ment that would permit the Heart Association certification mark and statement to be placed on the product, Better Beef — Customized (Side of Beef).
At the present time, the Piedmon- tese cattle are unique in having the AHA certification on an entire side of beef which is known as Better Beef Customized.
Representatives from Ameri-Pied will be at the Piedmontese display to provide information on how Pied- montese beef will work for the cattle- man, consumer, distributor and re- tailer.
"Hors d'oeuvres have always a pathetic interest for me; they remind me of one's childhood that one goes through, wonder- ing what the next course is going to be like — and during the rest of the menu one wishes one had eaten more of the hors d'oeuvres." —Saki
