Dear Parents and Guardians: There is something very special about the Holidays. The spirit of joy and sharing come to the forefront during this season, and the one.program and staff would like to send our best wishes to you and your family for a healthy, happy, and safe holiday season. As the year draws to an end, we often reflect on the events and experiences of the past twelve months. For many in San Joaquin County, this has been a very difficult year, with high unemployment and too much violence in the streets. The Holidays and New Year give us the opportunity to look forward, to make new resolutions and approach the future with optimism. Our children bring us a special joy during this season, as we share meals with friends and relatives, share gifts with our loved ones, and share time together as a family. The gifts we give our children provide momentary pleasures that fade in the distance and are insignificant compared to the time and love we give each and every day throughout the year. That is the foundation we build in shaping the kind of adults our children will become. Let our children’s joy, excitement, and sense of wonder inspire us to keep the spirit of the season with our family throughout the year. Cherish the moments of joy with your children, family, and friends. These are the experiences that give richness and meaning to our lives and are to be treasured and fondly remembered in years to come! Have a Happy Holiday Season and a Joyous New Year! Dear Parents and Guardians:

There is something very special about the Holidays. The spirit of joy and sharing

come to the forefront during this season, and the one.program and staff would like

to send our best wishes to you and your family for a healthy, happy, and safe

holiday season.

As the year draws to an end, we often reflect on the events and experiences of

the past twelve months. For many in San Joaquin County, this has been a very

difficult year, with high unemployment and too much violence in the streets. The

Holidays and New Year give us the opportunity to look forward, to make new

resolutions and approach the future with optimism.

Our children bring us a special joy during this season, as we share meals with

friends and relatives, share gifts with our loved ones, and share time together as a

family. The gifts we give our children provide momentary pleasures that fade in

the distance and are insignificant compared to the time and love we give each and

every day throughout the year. That is the foundation we build in shaping the kind

of adults our children will become. Let our children’s joy, excitement, and sense

of wonder inspire us to keep the spirit of the season with our family throughout

the year. Cherish the moments of joy with your children, family, and friends.

These are the experiences that give richness and meaning to our lives and are to

be treasured and fondly remembered in years to come!

Have a Happy Holiday Season and a Joyous New Year!

Sincerely,

James Mousalimas

one. to one Coolness Quotient Behind the scenes of our extraordinary teachers in the one.Program

1. How long have you been teaching in the one.Program? I have been teaching for 13 years.

2. Tell us something about your role in the one.Program? I believe that SJCOE is the most forward-thinking district in the area. We are given so many opportunities to explore and share with our students. Personally I am able to use my creative arts background and Master of Arts Degree in Reading all in the course of a normal day at Field Of Dreams. I love working with the younger students who are still so impressionable. I have the opportunity every day to help send them down the right path, and ensure their future. 3. What makes your school site and classroom exceptional? The wonderful people that I work with and collaborate with; from parents/guardians to counselors, therapists, and other outside agencies to fellow teachers and staff! We are always reflecting on our progress and that helps our site to continue to evolve and move forward in a positive direction. GO FOD!! 4. What are some of your hobbies or things you like to do outside the classroom? Hanging out with family and friends, traveling to far away places, skiing, running, healthy eating, reading, and writing. ROOTING FOR THE GIANTS!

1. How long have you been teaching in the one.Program? I have been a teacher at TLC since 1993. 2. Tell us something about your role in the one.Program? I have students from 3rd grade to 6th grade. My students are homeless. Our vans pick them up from shelters, motels, parks or homes if they are doubled up with other people. Because of their situation our community supporters give each student a backpack, shoes, socks, underwear and a hygiene pack. I love when a student has an “aha” moment or a “light blub” moment. 3. What makes your school site and classroom exceptional? TLC site is an exceptional site. We are so fortunate to be able to collaborate with Stockton Unified, Cal State Stanislaus & the one. Program . Our community is extremely supportive of our program. 4. What are some of your hobbies or things you like to do outside the classroom? Outside the classroom I love to birdwatch, hiking, kayaking, and graphic design.
