REFLECTIONS – Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time - The story of Naaman has many lessons for us. The prophet, Elisha, told him to bathe in the Jordan to be cured of his leprosy but he resisted - it was beneath him. His servant convinced him to do it and he was cured. How often do we resist the Spirit because we feel doing something would make us look silly? The more we ask the Spirit to guide us, the more we discover what seemed silly to us, is really God’s wisdom at work in us.

“Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things.” - Psalm 98:1 Reprinted with permission from S.T. Productions.

Nativity Mausoleum Update Our sales campaign is underway for the construc-tion of new mausoleum crypts at Nativity of Our Lady. The new mausoleum is probably 1 year away from completion, therefore, the small num-ber of unsold crypts that we have in current in-ventory will be reserved for temporary placement for caskets of families who have bought in the new mausoleum and are awaiting completion of the new facilities. We wanted to make this infor-mation known so that you can plan accordingly for your family’s burial needs. If you would like to speak to a salesman from the Acme Mausole-um company, please call the church office for their contact information.

The Living Rosary The Living Rosary will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend. If you wish to participate with the rosary group, please contact Linda Viator at the church office 364-8360. Petition boxes are at the entrances of the church. The petitions in the boxes will be prayed for during the rosary.

Is your child thinking about service to the church? Do they want to take a more active role during Mass? The Altar Server program may be what they are looking for. If your child is interested in participating in the Altar Server Program (3rd grade and up - Catholic Schools, Private Schools & Pub-lic Schools), please contact Lupe or Polly Camacho at the church office. 364-8360

Today is World Mission Sunday! In Scripture, we read that St Paul asked the Gentile Churches to take up a col-lection to support the Church in Jerusalem. Now we are asked to reach out and support the young churches throughout our world. Your prayers and generous gifts to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith in the collec-tion today will help missionaries offer the poor of these areas practical help as they share the mercy of God. It will ensure the development of local dioceses, and sup-port the work of priests, religious and lay leaders who serve those on the margins and in most need. Go out to the whole world through your gift in today’s collection.

Nativity Youth Group will be hosting the 11th annual “Holyween: Trunk-Or-Treat” in the Parish Hall af-ter 10:30am Mass on Sun-day, October 30th! We will

have face painting, games, food, candy & prizes! Come in your best HOLY-ween costume! Remember, NO SCARY MASKS. We are in need of volunteers to dec-orate their car trunks & pass out candy. Interested? We invite you to participate, and need to make sure we have all ar-rangements ready. Please contact Allison Abshire at [email protected] or call 365-3759. Donations are also being accepted (candy, decorations, etc.).

“Take this all of you, and eat it, this is my body...take this, all of you, and drink from it. This is the cup of my blood.” Eucharistic Prayer To give the “Body and Blood of Jesus Christ to our brothers and sisters in Christ is an awesome priv-ilege. Are you worthy? No, none of us is worthy, but we are striving to grow in holiness. If you are being called to this ministry, call Fr. Mario at the church office (364-8360).

We are pleased to announce that arrangements have been completed with Acme Mausoleum Corporation to build Phase 4 of our mausoleum here at Nativity of Our Lady. Acme Mausoleum has over 100 years of memorial experience and is the largest builders of mausoleums in the nation. They were the builders of our recent additions to our mausoleum and are here again offering the same trustworthy credentials and satisfactory service. Representatives will be contact-ing our families over the next few weeks to answer questions about the mausoleum and determine who is interested in making provisions for their fami-lies. The number of crypts selected before construc-tion will determine the size of the mausole-um. Spaces are reserved on a first come basis, there-fore anyone seeking information should either mail in the return card from the brochure being mailed to you, or by calling Acme at 1-877-620-7875. To be assured of a selection of your preference, you should reserve your space now. Additional brochures are located at the rear of the church for those who may not have received one in the mail.

Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time October 9, 2016

Reading I: 2 Kings 5:14-17 • Thank God for the good things he does for you. Reading II: 2 Timothy 2:8-13 • There is no chaining the word of God! Gospel: Luke 17:11-19 • Be grateful.

Theme: “We are Eucharistic people. We live in praise and thanksgiving.”

CHILDREN: Make up a prayer which tells God you are thankful for everything you have, even if it’s not all you want. YOUTH: Only one of the lepers returned to give thanks. This past week, when have you stopped to thank someone for something good they have done for you? When have you thanked God this week? ADULT: What are some ways you can think of to show gratitude to God? Make them concrete and real.

Because our church bulletin is printed out of state, all Mass intentions and announcements should be submitted to the office at least two weeks prior to the requested bulletin date. Thank you.
