Music Genre Research

The music genre that my magazine is going to be based on is ‘Alternative Rock’.

Alternative rock (also called alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a genre of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular by the 1990s.

The alternative rock genre has a number of sub genres such as Indie Rock, Britpop and Emo.

Alternative Rock artists are almost always bands. Bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Twin Atlantic and Bastille all represent the alternative rock genre, and these are the type of bands that will be featured in my magazine.
