Announcements

Personnel Committee Meeting - Thursday, April 26th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. Meet-n-Eat - Thursday, April 26th at 7:00 pm at IHOP. April 29th is Food Pantry Sunday, so don’t forget your food pantry donations! Supporting our local Food Pantry is an on-going mission project of the Angelic Ministers. Food collection barrels are located in the Education Building for you to place your food donations. A grocery list is included in today’s bulletin. The “Backpack Buddies” program is an ongoing ministry KBC has with Knightdale Elementary School. We provide a plastic bag filled with food items to help get a hungry child through the weekend who might not otherwise get a meal until they return to school again on Monday morning. Please help us with this ministry by contributing food items to help a hungry child in our town. A grocery list is included in today’s bulletin. Current needs: Thank you for all your donations for canned vegetables! We currently have a need for fruits (small cans or soft packs) and soft packs of applesauce, as well as breakfast items (cereal bars, individual boxes of cereal, pop-tarts, or oatmeal). Your donations are greatly appreciated! Properties Committee Meeting - Thursday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. Mission/Ministry Outreach Meetings - Tuesday, May 1st, May 22nd (for those going on the Eight Days of Hope Mission Trip), and June 5th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room and July 17th at 7:00 pm in the Parlor. We hope you can come and experience God’s work through KBC. Arts and Crafts Fair - Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm in the FLC. Funds raised benefit the Life Changing Transplant Foundation. Church Council Meeting - Sunday, May 6th at 6:00 pm in the Conference Room.

RBA Deacon and Leadership Conference - Exploring Biblical Models of Servant Leadership Saturday, May 19th from 8:00 am - 12 noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 8304 Leesville Road, Raleigh. The registration fee is $5.00 and covers all food, drinks and materials. Please register with the RBA office at 919-231-3995 by Monday, May 14th. Pay at the door. Please mark your calendars - everyone is encouraged to attend this conference!

Eight Days of Hope - May 26th-June 2nd. Eight Days of Hope will be helping 285+ homeowners of New Bern, (Pamlico County) NC rebuild after Hurricane Irene. They are looking for volunteers. The KBC Mission Team is planning on helping and we need you too! We know you are thinking this is Memorial Day weekend, but think about the families who have been living in tents and FEMA trailers since Irene hit this past August. And FEMA has instructed the homeowners they will be taking back the trailers the end of May so they can prepare them for the next disaster. We will be leaving late Friday, May 25th and returning Monday, May 28th. We will be doing construction work, debris clean up, etc. The cost is $30.00 per person/$100.00 per family (covers gas (bus) and donation to Eight Days of Hope). Please see Robin Farrington for more information or to get registered by May 10th. The trip will also be discussed at the next Mission Team meeting on Tuesday, May 1st at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room.

Announcements

Stop Hunger Now - KBC will be hosting a packaging event soon for Stop Hunger Now. Information on this event was placed in each of the Sunday School Classrooms today. The organization provides small meal packages to support school feeding programs and crisis relief around the world. They provide all the necessary material we just need to provide the volunteers and a small cost of 25 cents per meal. To get started in organizing our packaging event we had to set a goal for the number of meals we will pack and the minimum is 10,000. So starting Sunday, April 29th we will begin our “Quarter Drive for Hunger.” KBC Kids vs. KBC Adults - bring your quarters to church and place them in the appropriate container and lets watch whose jug gets filled first! Will it be KBC Kids or KBC Adults? Hearing Device available - Knightdale Baptist Church now has personal amplifiers available to individuals who have hearing difficulties. These devices will not help those with nerve deafness, but may help a significant number of persons attending our church. Devices can be picked up from Sam Maise in the Conference Room each Sunday before Sunday School or the worship service. Devices are returned to a basket in the Conference Room before worship or to a basket in the vestibule after worship. The church will maintain these devices by supplying the batteries and cleaning. Each device is numbered so that we can detect those that may malfunction and need replacement. Should the device malfunction while you are using it please let us know by: 1) tearing off the “Welcome Guest” slip in your bulletin, 2) Make a note on the slip as to the problem and, 3) then wrap it around the device before turning it in.

Annual Spaghetti Lunch and Auction

Sunday, April 29th

Do you like a great plate of spaghetti? Then

join us for lunch next Sunday immediately

following worship then stay for the fun and

fellowship of the auction/silent auction. All

able-bodied individuals are invited to join us

on Friday night at 7:00 pm to set up tables/chairs and decorate for

the event. It would be greatly appreciated if all items for the

auction/silent auction would be dropped off on Saturday morning

between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (except cakes) so we can get a written

description and placement done. Cakes may be dropped off before

Sunday School on April 29th. Thank you in advance for your support

and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Also, if you have a change in the schedule for the children’s nursery or children’s church, please contact the monthly coordinator so that the change can be made prior to the printing of the worship bulletin. However, any permanent changes in the schedule should continue to be handled by the lead coordinator.

Attention KBC Parents: If you have a child participating in children’s worship, please make sure they are picked up at the end of the church service by a parent or adult. The children’s worship leaders will only allow children to be picked up by a parent or adult from the nursery, toddler, 2-3 year old, 4-5 year old, or 6-7 year old classrooms.
