Mine Operations Oily Water Separators
Who are we?
●Small high tech engineering company
●Involved in water treatment since 1983
●Innovative new ways to treat water
containing oil and grease
●Sell systems to● USA● UK● Australia● New Zealand● Africa● Europe
Clients
● Mining companies● Oil companies● Power authorities
How Does it Work?
● 1000 times force of gravity
● No moving parts● Separator requires no
cleaning
How Does it Compare?
Source: The treatment of produced water in offshore rig; Comparison between traditional installations and innovative systems; F.E. Ciarapica.
Types of Oil Pollution1. Free Oil●Free floating oil OR●Oil droplets greater than 150 micron.●Free oil can separate by Gravity.
2. Emulsified Oil●Oil droplets less than 150 micron AND●Oil droplets greater than 2 micron●Emulsified oil must be treated with a more powerful separator.
3. Dissolved Oil●Oil droplets less than 2 micron OR●Physically dissolved in the water.●Dissolved oil will NOT be treated by conventional gravity, plate pack type systems.
4. Heavy Oil●Oil with density >1●Oil Stuck to heavy solids
& BenefitsFeatures
Lowest Ownership Costs
● When making an investment you need to consider the total cost of ownership over the lifetime of your investment:
● Installation, ● Operation and ● Maintenance
● After only 5 years, Ultraspin systems can be HALF THE COST.
Our Experience
● ~ 800 oily water treatment systems installed.
● ~ 27 billion litres of water treated ~ 75 % of the yearly water
usage of the City Of Sydney .
● Reclaiming about 5 billion litres of water per year.
Oily Water on Mine sites
● Typical uses● Mining – Workshops● Vehicle Wash / Truck wash● Refueling / Fuel Storage
