Technician Chair

In a sense, I really love

helping out the people

around me and the

environment. I enjoy

making people happy

too.

President

I am short and derpy, and

my favorite food is fried

chicken. I like sleeping,

KIWIN'S, food, and people

that share food.

Recording Secretary

I'm a reliable and

optimistic person. I love

having new experiences.

Vice President

I love Nutella, Starbucks,

naps, and spirit days. I

hate sketchy taxis from L.A

and APs.

Corresponding Secretary

I like knowing what's going

on. When I'm passionate

about something, I'm

dedicated and very

enthusiastic about it.

Treasurer

I am energetic, loud, and

proud. I'm passionate

about my work and

always go the extra mile.

Historian

I would describe myself as

very kind hearted, yet

sassy. I am also someone

who is a helping hand.

Historian

I'm a very social and free-

spirited person and I love

interacting with people! One

of my favorite things about

Kiwins is that you could meet

new people, make new

friends, and mainly just be

yourself.

Publicist

I may seem out-going, but

I'm actually pretty shy

when it comes to meeting

new people. However, I'm

always open to new

challenges and ideas.

Spirit Chair

I'm weird and loud. I love

meeting new people and

am outgoing.

On Friday, March 27th, Marina High School was flooded with students and staff wearing

yellow, but what was it for? It was for Seth. Seth Lane, a 5 year old boy with a rare

immune disease. It's been around media for quite some time. In a video he made, he

asked that people to wear yellow before his 2nd bone marrow transplant. So in support

of Seth, Marina KIWIN'S announced to the school that it would mean a lot to Seth if

people wore yellow and send a photo of themselves to Seth. This event was a big hit

and we hope that we can grant wishes to people like Seth.

Marina KIWIN’S cheered the runners

to the finish line, supplied water,

vitalyte, and Cliff-blocks. Since

almost half of the Marina KIWIN'S

went to the event, they were able

to do a set of cheers which new

members were able to learn in the

progress of volunteering.

A recap with Jet Division! This time,

they finally hosted their first time

capsule.

February’s Event Recap

Marina KIWIN'S 3rd Annual Rags to Runway event was hosted at their

home school. This event consists of a fashion show and thrift shop event.

Raffle tickets were sold along with many varieties of food provided by

the clubs of Marina High School. All proceeds went to Project Eliminate.

On March 8th at Bolsa Chica

Wetlands, Marina KIWIN'S and a

few other volunteer groups hiked

towards the beach and took out

all of the unwanted plants.

After Rags to Runway, KIWIN’S

decided to separate the good vs.

the bad clothes so that they could

be reused for the next Rags to

Runway and the rest donated to

charity.

On the day of Marina's dance,

Marina KIWIN'S was invited by their

ASB to assist them in setting up the

school's gym for Sadies. They placed

tables and used streamers to wrap

around the pillars.

March’s Event Recap

Marina KIWIN'S was given the honor to help the vendors set up in

preparation to Taste of Marina, where different types of

restaurants are able to advertise their products by giving the

admissions their sample food.

Marina & GGHS KIWIN’S went on

Laguna Hill’s Black Star. They socialized

and tested their survival skills.

For the month of February, the Member of the Month goes to a diligent,

hardworking member who spends his time with not only focusing on school work,

but also with KIWIN’S. Tommy Duong has been an active KIWIN’S member for 3

years and has made significant improvements for Marina KIWIN’S. This month,

Tommy has demonstrated outstanding leadership and assistance to both the

general and the board members. He speaks to the members about upcoming

events for Marina KIWIN’S on a daily bases and encourages them to attend and

have fun. He also commits his time in helping the Marina KIWIN’S Board Members

with DCON Awards in order for them to meet the requirements before the

deadline. Whenever the board members are in stress with KIWIN’S work, Tommy is

always there to assist them. Tommy is a friendly, hardworking, and trustworthy

member. To him, KIWIN’S is his family; he knows the history and the goals for

KIWIN’S more than any member. He is truly a dedicated member and deserves to

be recognized as February’s Member of the Month. Congratulations Tommy!

Kelly Ma has been an outstanding and very outgoing member of KIWIN’S. She

isn’t afraid to speak up and she has already made many new friends with her

never-ending positive attitude. This is her first year and her cheerful smile and fun

personality immediately gives off a good vibe in KIWIN’S. She is always inviting

and never lets people down. We were so happy to see her at big events such as

Fall Rally and she event found a service event for Marina where we helped with

the Grand Re-Opening of the Westminster Resource Center. We know she will

continue her great work in the years of high school ahead of her! Keep an eye

out for Kelly Ma, because she is an amazing member and already a dedicated

2015-2016 board member.

Marina KIWIN’S is honored to have Kelly as the March Manatee of the Month and

we are excited to see her continue to grow as a leader in the future!

Congratulations Kelly Ma!

For the month of March, the Marina KIWIN’S Historian and, fittingly, the 2015-2016

Club President Jennifer Le has earned Officer of the Month for her unwavering

dedication and hard work! This month, Jennifer has been put in the main

leadership position of organizing a big fundraiser called the FightForCharity: Super

Smash Bros Tournament. She collaborated with Nerd Club, our faculty advisor, and

school administration to make the event happen. Whenever she needs help, she

doesn’t hesitate to pursue an answer. She is very easy to communicate with and

she is quick to points out minor issues within the club and suggests ways to fix it

before it becomes a problem. I have full confidence in Jennifer Le next year and

although I will be saddened to not be a board member with her after DCON, I

know she will continue to work hard in her future. Great job Jennifer Le, and keep

up the fantastic work in your years in KIWIN’S!
