INDEPENDENT LIVING
March 2020
Park Crescent
Legacy at Park Crescent is
happy to share another month
of great activities and
resident stories. Let me start
by sharing a wonderful story
about another couple who
have been together since
2015. Richard and MaryLou
have enjoyed sharing their
lives together. MaryLou
moved in before Richard. He
enjoyed the Legacy so much he decided to move in to be closer to
MaryLou. Watching them enjoy life together is a gift to everyone
who meets them. They continue to thrive in activities and share
their kind spirit for life itself by being wonderful people. Be sure to
introduce yourself if you don't already know them. MaryLou has
shared her passion for poetry with us at one of our Watermark
University classes. Richard has joined our Wii bowling group and
has made many new friendships since he moved in. Remember, do
not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many!
March March is all about health and nutrition.
It's important to take care of both your
mind and body. It will pay off in many
ways, including:
...allowing you to take charge of your
life and feel good about the choices
you make;
...gaining energy and feeling more fit;
...gaining a positive outlook and finding
more enjoyment in your life;
...being a role model for your family and
friends.
Begin by setting small goals that are
easy to add to your daily life and that
you control. Wellness and fitness
involve being aware and making
healthy choices about diet, exercise,
and staying positive. Join our health
talk on health and nutrition on
March 31 at 2:30 pm.
Path to Well-Being
Elvis the king the Legend will never be forgotten. Residents enjoyed
having Harvey Evans join our home to share his Elvis songs that brought
back a lot of memories to everyone. Music is great for our health, mind,
body and soul. Studies show that it can improve your health in many ways.
It can relieve anxiety, depression, and stress. Music uplifts your spirit. Helps
bring back memories of songs from childhood to adulthood. I start my day
with music and end it with music. Singing is always a stress reliever, as
well. Music helps self-acceptance, self-awareness and expression,
stimulation of speech, motor integration, and a sense of belonging. Please
join our music on Sundays at 4:30pm,Tuesdays at 7:30pm and Friday March
13 at 7:30pm. Put your dancing shoes on and come out and have some fun
with your friends who have become like family!
