Handle drill pipe or tubing when it is being hoisted out or lowered into the hole. Apprise the Driller of mud condition and pumping equipment conditions.

Maintain periodic check on mud weight, viscosity and add mud or chemicals as directed by the mud engineer.

Assist the Driller in handling day-to-day rig activities, maintenance problems and mud problems. Keep shale shaker and de-sander clean when in use.
