The Mater Dei Parish Community offers the following family our heartfelt sympathy on the death of their loved one. Your family will be remembered in our prayers.
...to Barb Estes and family, upon the death of her sister, PATRICIA STADLER on November 25th in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 86.
May God open his arms and welcome her home and continue to be your strength and consolation.
Here are some questions you may consider as you prepare
to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
• What takes my time before God? What are my
false gods? (eg. television, computer, money, work)
• How much and how often do I pray? Is my
prayer life growing? Do I trust God? Do I seek
to understand and grow in my faith?
• What kind of language do I use? What kind of jokes do I tell?
• Do I say the Lord's name without purpose or do I use it with foul
language? Do I use the name of Jesus, Mary, or any of the saints,
in a bad way?
• Who do I need to forgive?
• Do I go to Mass every Sunday and every Holy Day of Obligation?
Do I do any unnecessary work on Sunday? Do I spend time with
my family?
• Do I give to my church?
• Do I respect my parents? Do I respect people in position of
authority? Do I respect teachers? Do I respect my children? Do I yell? How do I discipline?
• What civil laws have I broken?
• Do I use people for my own purposes?
• Do I respect life? Have I supported someone who has
disrespected life? Do I care for the elderly, the poor, and the sick?
• Do I respect animals as living beings and God's creation? Do I
care for the environment?
• Have I lied? Have I lied in small ways? Do I cheat? Have I taken
advantage of anyone? Have I stolen anything? If I have stolen
something, have I returned the item or made some kind of reparation?
• Have I been angry? How did I deal with frustration? Have I
forgiven? Have I apologized?
• Do I gossip? Am I jealous of another? Am I envious, meaning, do
I wish that someone did not have what he or she has? Have I
been happy over someone else's pain?
• Am I lazy? Am I gluttonous? Do I eat too much? Do I eat healthy
food and drinks?
• How do I drive? Do I have any road rage?
• Am I involved in any sexual sin? Do I lust? Do I look at indecent
pictures? Do I continue to think about these things or disregard
the thoughts?
• What kinds of programs do I watch on television or movies do I
go see?
• What are some of the things that I should have done that I did
not do?
