The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) is pleased

to confirm that Somerset Weld-ing & Steel’s renewal for quali-fied member status through the Member Verification Program has been approved. As such, J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers will be recognized as an MVP member through March 31, 2015. MVP accredited companies distinguish themselves by achieving key criteria around employee educa-tion and training, quality, safety and compliance with government regulatory requirements.

J&J president, Bill Riggs, said “We are pleased to participate in the MVP program, as we have since its start in 2006. The NTEA requirements were even more stringent this year, but because of our ongoing focus on training and quality, and our compliance to our ISO, ASME, and DOT certifications, we remain ahead of industry standards.”

According to NTEA President Steve Sill, president, Aspen Equipment (Minneapolis, MN), “NTEA MVP status identifies firms that are verified to have achieved high standards in order to provide better value to their customers. They have proven their commitment to achieve excellence within the work truck industry by adopting specific business practices and verified compliance with applicable gov-ernment regulations.”

The MVP program—first in-troduced to NTEA members in 2005—identifies consistent business practices around quality, integrity, safety, training and compliance; helping mem-ber companies create mutu-ally beneficial and longer-lasting relationships with their suppliers, distributors and customers.

Push Out Trailers for Transportation Company

J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers is one of the few companies that manufactures Steel Push Out (SPO) trailers. They are primarily used in hauling waste to landfills where the

ejection cylinder is used to quickly unload the trailer. Since the trailer loads horizontally, it eliminates the problem of tipping on the uneven terrain oftentimes found at landfills. In addition to push outs, J&J also manufactures walking floor trailers and tippers. Call J&J when you need waste hauling trailers. We’re experts!

J&J Tank Trucks Featured at Spring Shows

Tank trucks and tank trailers will be featured at several oil and gas trade shows this spring and summer. These include

CUSTOMER, JERRY PRESTON HAULING

Jerry Preston Hauling of Jar-rettsville, Maryland, is a leading

supplier of construction materials and transportation in Maryland and southern Pennsylvania. Jerry Preston prides himself on high performance and on-time deliv-ery for his customers. For over a decade, Preston has partnered with J&J Truck Bodies and Trail-ers to build the truck bodies his business depends on. Preston offers two purchasing principles that maximize truck body investment.

A Flexible Fleet is a Profitable Fleet. On a given day, one of Jerry Preston trucks could be hauling playground sand at 9:00 a.m. and large diameter rocks at 11 a.m. Preston’s bottom line improves when he can use the same truck for both jobs, saving fuel costs and streamlining dispatch logistics. Pres-ton works closely with his J&J sales expert, Ed Monk, and over the past decade Preston has designed his fleet to include three styles of J&J bodies – aluminum material haulers (J&J DynaHauler® MH); ultra light duty steel crossmemberless bodies (J&J DynaHauler® LWC-UL); and semi-elliptical (J&J DynaHauler® SE.)

These three bodies fit nearly all of his hauling needs, from the smallest particle aggregates to materials up to 36” in diameter. Preston achieves efficiency and flexibility in nearly every area of operations, especially parts inventory and maintenance,

by limiting his fleet to include only J&J bodies.

The J&J body is an alumi-num brush truck designed to maximize all usable space: it includes custom built toolboxes with LED lighting, removable sides at rear, a skid unit with a 300-gallon water tank and gas powered pump and top mounted equipment storage both sides of the body.

Decked Out in Diamond Plate

A steel push out trailer was sent to J&J Truck Equipment for a complete overhaul. The team at J&J removed and replaced the push out cylinder, put in new steel flooring, installled new landing gear, made structural adjustments and improvements to the body, prior to sand blasting and painting. The push out trailer was returned in mint condition and ready to haul waste to the landfills. Repair and refurbishment is a great way for companies to save money.

Potomac Mack Sales & Service sent this chassis to J&J where it was outfitted with a custom flatbed with steerable lift axles. The steel heavy-duty flatbed is 25’ 4” long and 100 ¾” wide. A rear fork lift mounting system was also installed.
