Similar to other pools just built in the area, but these schools have smaller bather loads

Similar to other pools that have comparable bather loads

Allows for 2 sections of swimming & diving practices, but school practices will still end at ~6:30pm

Allows for 3 sections of swimming & diving practices and will allow school practices to end at ~6:00pm

Allows for multiple water polo practices with 1 regulation size competition area (sideways)

Allows for multiple water polo practices with 1 regulation size competition area (lengthwise)

Shallow end for Learn to Swim and Physical Education could be limited due to restrictions on depth for starting blocks (minimum ~5 feet)

Shallow teaching area for Learn to Swim and Physical Education enhanced toward the middle of the pool (hump at 3’6”)

Starting blocks in deep end, which limits practice on swim starts limited during diving practice

Starting blocks on both ends, deeper depth at one end with the shallow area in the middle (hump)

For Physical Education - 2 teaching stations (1 PE & 1 Lifeguard class), can also access the classroom

For Physical Education - 2 teaching stations (2 PE classes), can also access the classroom

Conclusion

- Options 6.1 and 7.2 both provide a swimming pool that meets the minimum needs of Libertyville High School and the community

- Option 7.2 will enhance the LHS programs throughout the year- LHS teams can accommodate the larger number of athletes

- LHS teams can schedule more efficient and effective practices, helping student-athletes balance school with sports

- LHS Physical Education will have access to additional teaching stations- Learn to Swim program enhanced with a more viable shallow area- Allows for future growth and/or changes in Aquatics programs- Allows the pool to rest and recover between pool use (more downtime)

- Option 7.2 at an additional cost of $1.2 million over 45 years is ~$27,000 per year

Let’s dive into the pool project!
