Use the character profile template from Moodle

• Go through the worksheet to flesh out your character and give them personality.

• You should try to answer the questions as short as you can and quickly to keep your ideas flowing.

Desires and wishesExternal desires are when a character has a need to do something in the story.

• For example: Batman wants to eradicate crime.

Internal desires are the inner motivations that the character has.

• For example: Batman never wants to give up fighting crime.

Batman’s desires are in conflict because if he was to stop crime then he would stop being batman because it is who he is to need to fight crime.

Why is this?- Because he witnessed his parents death.

Go back to your “building a storyline” worksheet and add your character profile in a summary

• Write out who your character is and what their motivations are.

• Use the profile to summarise your character as a whole.

• Explain their motivations, conflicts, etc.
