Computer Lab Management

1.1 Computer Lab Rules and

Regulations

Below are the rules and regulations forcomputer lab users:

1.Pupils are prohibited to enter thelab unless authorized by the

teacher.

2. Scan diskettes before using them.

3. Report all problems related to

the system to the teacher.

4. Do not attempt to repair or tamperwith lab equipment.

5. Be responsible when usingequipment, software and

facilities in the lab.

6. Do not move any equipment from

its original position.

7. Do not remove or load any software

into the computer.

8. Do not change the settings in the

computer.

9. Save all work in external storage

device and not in the computer.

10. Do not bring in bags, food and drink

into the lab.

11. Turn off the computer accordingly

after use.

12. Switch off all power supplies

before leaving the lab.

13. Internet facility is strictly for

educational purposes only.

14. All users should record the use

of computers in the computer logbook.

15. The lab should be kept cleanand tidy at all times.

Users are person who is using

the computer.

1.3 EquipmentEquipment should be handle

properly.

Equipments are such as table, chair,keyboard, and so on.

How to take care of the equipment?

- Do not knock or break the tables.

- Do not throw or break the chairs.

- Do not play with the cables,

wires, suis and so on.

1.4 Data and User Security

Data and User Security is important

where user can create username and

password.

It helps user where nobody can read or

open your profile.

2. Lab Organization

2.1 Organization Chart It shows the coordinator who is

responsible to coordinate the computer

lab. The responsibilities of a computer lab

coordinator are:-

- Have to make sure all the

computers are functioningproperly.

- Have to make sure the quantity of

the equipments in the lab are in acorrect order.

- Have to take care of the

equipments and the computersappropriately.

2.2 Computer Lab Timetable

Students should use the lab according

to the allocated time.

Students are not allowed to use the labwithout authorization.

2.3 Log Book

There are two log books:-

- Computer Log Book (User)

- Computer Lab Log Book (Teacher)

The usage of the log book is

- To make sure the students have

entered the lab on time.

- To identify which student is using

which computer.

Students have to sign in and sign out the

log book whenever they use the lab.

Ethics in Using Computer

Ethics

- It means system of moral standard

on values used as a guideline for

computer users.

Ethics of computer usage are:-

- Turn off the computer

appropriately after finish using

it.

purpose.- Scan the computer regularly to

avoid any viruses.

Legal protection for any tangible

(things that can be seen) form of

expression that give authors andartists exclusive rights to duplicate

publish and sell their materials.

loss.

Unethical use of computers can be list

- Smash down the keyboard

- Stealing Software

are:-

- Computer will be spoilt.

- Certain parts of the components of

the computer are too hard to find or

replace.
