When I wrote my first newsletter article for Knightdale Baptist Church in June 2012, I focused on the notion that God had something special in store for all of us. It was the start of a meaningful relationship that had boundless potential to carry forward into new experiences of God’s grace and a profound sense of purpose and vision. Arriving here, at another summer marking my third complete year as your pastor, heading into number four, that belief still carries that God not only has something special in store, God has already given us so many special occasions to celebrate together as a family of faith. Last year, when presented with the hard truth of our financial strain, as a congregation KBC rose to the challenge with faith and trust that there remained meaning, purpose, and direction for the ministry taking place through our church. The goal was never to simply finish a year, and it shouldn’t be. The goal is always to thrive in such a way that we carry forth with God’s plans for us into numerous and bountiful years ahead. This year, united in purpose and cause, we came together to put forth one of the best events I’ve had the pleasure of participating in with over a decade in ministry. The best outcome is never the monetary gain. It’s watching people work alongside one another with a common goal. It’s witnessing firsthand the joy and celebration exhibited through hard work and dedication. It’s joining together knowing that we rely on the blessings of God’s Spirit and commitment to each other in accomplishing our goals. So, here I am, writing to you another anniversary address three years from my first day serving as your pastor. Still, a question lingers in my mind. What lies ahead for Knightdale Baptist Church in the years to come? God only knows, but I have a good idea that it’s going to be great. A lot can happen in three years, and there’s still much more to come. — Trent Sessoms a monthly newsletter of Knightdale Baptist Church P1 To Be Continued ... I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer my joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:3-6 A lot can happen in three years. So, here I am, writing to you another anniversary address three years from my first day serving as your pastor. Still, a question lingers in my mind.
