As the old saying goes: “time flies”!However, it does seem incredible tothink that our first edition was pub-lished six years ago this month.

What started off as a “bright idea” when wewere working together at the Liverpool Echocame to fruition in July 2006 and we startedoff by distributing 8000 copies of the WestDerby Link throughout West Derby &Croxteth Park.

We’ve since gone from strength to strengthand following the launch of the SouthLiverpool Link in August 2007, The LiverpoolLINK now has a total monthly distribution of35,000. If someone had told us that six yearsago we’d have said it was way beyond ourwildest dreams and expectations! As it is, wehave firmly established ourselves as afavourite independent local publication.

We remain a totally independent businessand are the first to recognise that the successof The Link is entirely down to you - our read-ers and our advertisers. So we say a very bigthank you to you all for your constant supportand loyalty over the last six years and for thetrust and confidence you have placed in us.We also thank you, our readers, for the way inwhich you have supported our advertisers.

However, thereare currently seri-ous issues of anti-social behaviourand crime along thesection behind thenew barracks site

housing develop-ment.

A proposal togate the path,restricting access,goes to public con-sultation in August.
