3 examples of Tyndall ICT technology providing solutions for health

Device developed to measure radiation in space is now

used for in-vivo measurement during radiation treatment

A device designed to measure low light levels enables

biomolecule detection, eg: in diseases such as TB

Process developed to enable the positioning of optical

devices on silicon enables transdermal drug delivery

    National Access Programme

SFI established NAP in 2005 to give access to Tyndall to all Irish

researchers based in Irish Universities & Institutes of Technology extended to N.I. in April 2007.

Open to Staff, PIs, Postgraduates, Postdocs, Research Fellows, etc.

Provides fully funded access to all equipment & expertise at Tyndall.

Supervised by an external National Access Committee chaired by

    Professor Mark Keane (UCD).

    National Access Programme at Tyndall:

To date 229 projects have been funded

from all 9 Universities and & 7 ITs

25% of these projects directly address research in health
